1. sean is the 2nd from the right.

2. here’s sean post race with two of his biggest little fans!

3. lily spent much of the weekend sleeping in the stroller.

4. lily and daddy enjoying some family time, watching the racers on sunday.

this weekend was crazy and fun! we got to laguna seca raceway, near monterey, friday afternoon and set up trailer. no sooner did we get there then did our trailer mates also. we borrowed the trailer from sean’s business partner chad, who was supposed to race also but broke his arm last week. chad decided last minute to head up to join us with his 3 kids. thankfully, the trailer had enough sleeping room for us all, and we’re all very comfortable with each other, nearly family. all that said, we still all slept horribly. we were all counting the hours until daylight to get up. sean’s race was bright (not so bright as it was very gloomy and cold) and early (7:30). we bundled up and trecked down to watch the start. it was very exciting! we got to see sean at one more point along the race, at the last hill before the finish. he ended up placing 8th out of 73 racers! this was his first race and i am very proud of him. he trained very hard and was really diligent about his diet, which was very difficult i’m sure since i have been eating terribly around him, gaining a mere 12 pounds this last month (watch out shamu!). so luckily the rain held off for sean’s race, but then dumped for a few hours after. we decided to head out in the rain with raincoats and umbrellas for a couple hours and came back chilled. today we had a much needed family day and watched a few friends race. we got home this afternoon and i’m on my fourth load of laundry! on my agenda tomorrow is to start packing for my trip, go shopping for specific american-only items for my sister (fajita seasoning, bikini wax…. the usual;)), get my hair done, and do the dishes. what’s on your list tomorrow? its gotta be more exciting than mine!

p.s. now that i’ve finished with this post, my pictures won’t come up – AAAHHH!!! maybe tomorrow:(

Congrats to Sean! That’s amazing. I’m so glad you had a great family day. There is something so relaxing and fulfilling about just being all together.
And I’m quite jealous that Lily still falls asleep in her stroller. Caedra hasn’t done that in a long time. I hope the pictures work soon. I can’t wait to see them.

Wow – I’m so proud of my brother! I can’t wait to see the pictures! I’m bummed for you that the weather did not cooperate, but sometimes that makes it so much more of a memorable experience! I’m sure your racing around today getting stuff ready, I’ll be praying for you over the next couple of days :} Remember Philippians 4:13!!!!! say it over and over – it works!!! Love you ~ Shan
