i finally have decided…. i think

yes, there are 11 fabrics. but its just so hard to decide, so i went a bit overboard. if you’ve seen my other quilts, you know i’m pretty consistent with this problem, if it is a problem? so i guess i’ve gone a bit more with the “surfer” look than i wanted. they’re fabrics that i was drawn to, and they had some great colors in them, kind of “vintage-y”. when i had asked sean what he wanted for the boys room, he said sporty, in the way of vintage/retro surf and skate. so that’s where i’m trying to head, without it becoming too theme-y.
now i have to decide what to do with these fabrics! the bedskirt will be out of chocolate brown burlap – unconventional, but also inexpensive! i thought i’d make one side of the bumper out of the thick striped limey green/cream/brown fabric, but at $18/yard, i don’t think that’ll happen. the inside of the bumper will be cream chenille stripes (was on lily’s bumper).
i’m thinking of borrowing an idea from a friend and doing a quilt in random lengths of strips, but i can’t decide!
sometimes it helps for me to just stare at the fabrics for awhile, then i’ll get hit by an inspiration. we’ll see.
p.s. sean thinks polka dots are feminine. what do you think?
p.p.s. 3 of the fabrics are actually boy’s and men’s shirts from walmart!

cute! As for the polka dots, I think the little dots look more feminine than the big ones. Just my opinion though! Maybe brown/white polka dots would look less girly to him? I think the green are cute though- especially the larger print.

I love the fabrics! I think polka dots can be feminine, but they look great with the combination you’ve put together. Not feminine at all. You’re so creative.
