color!

as i’ve been slowly prepping decorations for lily’s party, i’ve been swimming in color! the house is a beautiful mess of tissue paper scraps and chenille pompoms! my favorite kind of mess, but one that is not easily tucked out of sight! as i was taking pictures of some of this fun color, i realized that color has been finding it’s way all over the house, so i thought i’d spread a little happiness and share these pics with you!
tissue paper waiting patiently to be turned into poms, using these directions. so easy!

the finished product, waiting to be hung from the ceiling.

party hats for boys

party hats for girls

i bought these paper mache letters a long time ago and painted them, then decoupaged them with decorative papers.

gracie’s plain white letters were jealous of lily’s fancy ones, so g and i decided we’d share the love and cover them too. such a fun and easy project, done in an hour or so.

here are some of gracie’s paintings from the last couple years

although my library is much smaller, i got the idea to organize my books by color here.

enjoy your week!

So fun! I love the party hats- so adorable! And yay for the chandelier being up- I remember that being painted a while back. We still have a chandelier sitting in the corner of our bathroom. It never made it up… maybe once we move :)
I can’t wait to see all of the pics from Lily’s party- it already looks super cute from those 3 pics.

Lindsey! That’s genius. About four months ago, I organized all our books by colour. We have the black shelf, the silver shelf, the beige shelf, the red/ orange shelf, the yellow shelf, blue shelf, and green shelf. Jeff thinks it makes it harder to find his books. I think it looks pretty. Now I’m going to have to blog about it tomorrow.

oh i love color!! such cute decorations, and i love your light in the next post too.

i totally want to organize my books by color now too. i put a bunch away in boxes recently because we simply don’t have the space for all of them, but maybe it will still look good with a couple shelves of books like you did.

we aren’t going to be able to go to lily’s party. i’m totally bummed, but we’ll be out of town. i’m sure it will be lots of fun. take pictures!

    Hey Linds,
All your party stuff looks great! Do you have a “party hat how-to”? I’m doing something similar for Emery’s little #2 party. Let me know.

PS – Got Silas’ announcement in the mail today. Looks even better in person! You may call yourself imperfect, but you do a darn good job at all you do!
