sick bugs and shower prep

how fun are these?! i’m helping with a welcome shower for our new jr. high pastor’s wife on saturday. i thought it would be fun to have a little decorations on the food table, so last night kate and i made these. i found the idea and directions here. remember, no original ideas here, folks! these were pretty easy, just took awhile – about 3-3 1/2 hours start to finish.

and the kids have all had colds for the last few days. it was a good thing i was productive early on in the week, because we’ve been holed up in the house and aren’t headed out soon. sean came home a couple days ago to give me a little mental break from all the whining, and he actually got lily to lay down to watch a movie (something i’ve NEVER accomplished before). when i went to check up on them, i found sean and lily were out! yay! lily really needed that second nap.

i gave in. i gave silas his first food. i tried to hold off until he was 6 months old, but it seemed like i was torturing him. so i gave him some rice cereal. he was NOT into it. 2 bites. thats it, and most of it was spit out. so i tried a zwieback toast. he looks like he likes it in the pic, but as soon as i set the camera down he was done. so maybe i get to wait a bit longer?

so here’s some fun stuff we’ve been doing around here:
making beaded bracelets and necklaces
aquadoodle
lily putting her finger in her poopy diaper – DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS!
watching movies
prep for another shower – no sneak peek
laundry
dishes
making lots of messes

hope you’re day is not as snotty as mine!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you find something useful on my site about homeschooling. I really don’t post about it as much as I should–seems most of my friends are always asking to see design projects! Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free to email me if it’s easier for you than leaving comments: zbug1@msn.com.

And now I have to say that those are SUCH CUTE KIDS! And I love all their names! Sorry they’re feeling sick. I guess winter time is sick time even in sunny California :)!

    All my best,
    -Jennifer
