a good day

yesterday i skipped church again, for like the 5th sunday in a row! silas has had a stinkin’ cold that he just cannot kick (note to self: call dr. about cold he just cannot kick), so i’ve been staying home with him. this morning i decided we would go to our local “flea” held at the drive-in movie theater. its really much more like a huge garage sale, usually pretty junky. but yesterday i got 2 great deals: the first was an igloo drink dispenser (its HUGE!) for only $6,
and the second was a wooden pillarfor $4. its pretty plain, but my front porch was needing a little love, and i thought this pillar would spruce it up a bit, after i paint it somehow first. in my spare time, right?
then i picked up sean and the girls from church and we headed north to an antiques show i got a flyer for. i have received these flyers in the mail before and just ignored them, thinking all that i’d find would be lots of stained wood antique pieces and stained glass and high prices. but i was soooo wrong! i really regret not taking any pictures, but this place was amazing! really fun displays and great finds. i restrained myself (ok, sean restrained me) and only got a few little things:
a great plate for only $4 – i think its fiestaware? 2 blue/green mason jars for $4
and a cute little green depression glass footed dessert dish. but this one’s to give away to a sweet red-headed friend of mine who loves this stuff.
all in all, it was a successful day. we played in the yard the rest of the afternoon, got some gardening done, and grocery shopped for the week.

be sure to stop back here tomorrow because i’m going to put some stuff up for sale! so fun!

things i’m thankful for:
1. time to do what i enjoy
2. doing what i enjoy for very little money!
3. silas sleeping thru the night again!
4. lily’s vocab getting bigger and more clear
5. silas’ happy nature
6. naptime
7. bedtime ;)
8. blogging buddies!
