i felt so loved yesterday, even with my love out of town! thank you all for your sweet birthday wishes. so very kind of you.
i wanted to show you a couple gifts that family and friends treated me to yesterday:
my brother, michael, and his wife, denise, sent me these flowers! they also called me at midnight to be the first to wish me happy birthday. i was a bit groggy at being woken up, but appreciative. denise is always so creative with her celebrations.
my sweet friend, joy, gave me this jadite bowl! isn’t it beautiful?!? i have a very small collection of jadite pieces and joy and i share our love of all things jadite, so this was especially meaningful. thanks, joy!
my “very best friend in the whole wide world”, nicole, sent me this incredibly touching gift. as soon as i unwrapped it and read what it said on the top i started tearing up.
she wrote 30 sweet things about me and memories we have together. any time i need a serious ego boost, i’ll just have to go read this again! thanks, nicole – you’re the best!
then to finish off my day i had leftover pancakes for dinner with lots of boysenberry syrup. yum! unfortunately, as i sat down on our white couch to eat this and watch a movie, i tipped my plate and spilled syrup all down my thigh and onto the couch! aaaaah! thankfully its a slipcover, so today i’m doing more laundry. fun times.
things i’m thankful for today:
1. loving parents (who will be here tomorrow!!!!!!)
2. a husband who should be home in a few hours, hopefully well rested
3. a sleeping toddler
4. the end of the school year nearing (nearing? is that a word?)
5. children who forgive me without pause
6. a God who forgives me without pause
