now that i’ve got your attention, i need your help. but first a little background: so i started this blog as a place to talk about my family, motherhood, celebrating, and crafting, a place to connect with family and friends, and to make new friends. well, this little crafty business of mine is starting to get a little bigger, which is fun (and hard to balance), but its taking away from this blog. i’ve decided to start a new blog that would focus on my business, feature products, and have some ideas on it. and this blog would get back to its roots, focusing on family whatnots, crafty-ness, and mommy stuff.

here’s where you come in – i need a new name for this business and blog! nothing too cutesy (ex: buttons ‘n’ bows), just fun and funky. please give me any name ideas you think may fit me, and also any business feedback. i can do the crafty stuff, but the business end… not so much. if i end up using one of your suggested names you get to pick any 2 items available in the shop (in my sidebar, on the right)!

so get your wheels turning and give me your most amazing ideas – please!
i’m also going to need to get your help getting the word out about my new blog, so when the time comes (whenever i get a business name), i’ll be asking again! thanks so much, friends!

in other news – my boy is walking! yep, at 11 months old he’s walking the majority of the time. its pretty fun! i’d love to show you a picture, but every time i grab my camera, he’s already at my face! i should be really busy planning his party for next month, but i’ve been swamped with so much other stuff. i will have some super fun details to share with you soon. i’m trying to decide if i should give you little tidbit as i get them done, or give it all in one big package after the party with all the fun pictures. hmmm, we’ll see…

our summer has been pretty fun so far, with play dates and field trips each week. we definitely need to start swim lessons soon (mental note: put that on the list!). the garage rebuild project has a lull right now, but should be picking back up soon. and anticipating next year of homeschooling has also been taking a lot of time in prep and book ordering, but we’re so very excited for it. so excited! potty training has come to a screeching halt – i’ve contemplated just going back to diapers, but this lazy mom is really enjoying her daughter being able to change her own pull-ups! i’ve got a pile of books i need to start reading (aaahhhh!). remember, i’m more of a magazine reader, so this will be quite a challenge!

so there’s the summer wrap up (so far). now get to thinking of something super creative to call my business! please!

Love the colors and patterns of the fabrics you choose, and the creative ways you use them. So cheerful — I always think of spring gardens when I look at your items. So how about “Fresh Picked” for a name? Or would it be “Freshly Picked” (not sure of the proper grammer!)

  9. 9

ooh, i like the fresh picked one. i thought of something like, sew simple or sew simply. i also like lalalemon designs.

  10. 10

    pink lemonade?

  11. 11

sorry, i’ll quit commenting after this–what about
    ba-ba-be? what lily called ballet?

    its a snap!
    sew what?

    Jeff and Robin says:

I like the play on the word sew.

    Sew SLO?

    What about something French?
    Petite Chic?
    C’est Chic?
(The word for sew in French isn’t a pretty word to look at in my opinion, so I didn’t use it)

    Or something completely random:
Girl on the Red Swing (It’s from a children’s book)

Maybe you could name it three words, each one representing something your children love or reminds you of them?

    Good luck with the name!

    Jeannett Gibson says:

I too, like the play on the word “sew” but I also think it’s important to incorporate the fact that you are a mom, since that’s so integral to your entire business plan. How about:

    Sew Funky Mama

    Sew Sassy

    Sew Chic

Or, pick one word that is meaningful to you and your family, and then have a short little caption underneath?

    Shealynn Benner says:

What about GLS Designs? First initial of your kiddos. Sure you got that. ;) Or “Sew Cheney”.

“Sew Momma/Mama Sew” is already a blog/website. I used to read it all the time.

Good luck. Lots of good ideas on here. :)

Can i ask what’s wrong with just using “imperfect”? I think it’s clever, simple, and frankly, perfect!

    Just Lindsey’s

Have fun with the name and keep it simple.

    Brianna Heldt says:

my only idea is “sew imperfect.” but then you might give people the wrong idea about your wonderful stuff, which is far from imperfect!

SO exciting that your business is taking off! yay! can’t wait to see what you decide on.

  24. 24
    Brianna Heldt says:

(you could also do “sew perfect”.)

This might be out there already but how about “Sew Inspired”….. or name it after something that your children say, or if you have nicknames for your kids incorporate that into the name.

    take care – Annie

what about *Birdhouse Designs*. *Three Little Peas* (your kiddos).
*Three Strands* (“A cord of 3 strands is not quickly broken.” Ecc. 4:12. one of my favorite verses.)
coming up with the name is so fun, it sets the mood, helps creates the logo and design, and invites people in. good luck! your stuff is so cute!
