we’ve moved!

our furniture, that is. did i trick you?

last week we had some work done in the boy’s room and the playroom that we needed to get ALL of the furniture out of the rooms for. when we remodeled this house, we tore it down to the subfloor, then built it back up. apparently the subfloor had some issues that cause A LOT of squeaks and creaks in the floor of those 2 rooms. we finally got around to having them fixed, which meant all the carpet and padding had to be rolled back and then the floor had to be rescrewed down more securely. it was pretty fast, maybe a couple hours, but it took longer to get the furniture and all the rooms’ contents out then back in. but it jump started some fall cleaning that is so long overdue, and a little purging. of course, the playroom is back to its normal state of “natural disaster”. its funny, even with the squeaks gone, i still tiptoe out of silas’ room in the places i knew didn’t squeak before, doing a funy sort of quick step to sneak out of his room. hard habit to lose, i guess.

I get happy just thinking of your playroom. It has all the design elements that a playroom should have! Very inspiring. Hope you’re recovering well from your crazy-busy weekend!

Just be glad you’re not me and STILL have your childrens’ furniture scattered throughout the house because you’re painting their room and are soooooooo slow. 4 months now and counting.

There’s a squeak at the top of the stairs, and near Henry’s room…in the mornings, if I step on it, he’ll wake up, so I find myself hopping over it…even if it’s the middle of the day and I know he’s awake downstairs! :)
