feather wreath tutorial

here’s a quick little tut for you guys. i’ve had this wreath since our first christmas and i am still loving it! its simple and gaudy at the same time – so fun!

grapevine wreath
feather boa (the big fluffy kind, not the wimpy marabou kind)
glue gun

lay your wreath out flat on some newspaper (in case the glue drips). going about 4 to 6 inches at a time, squirt some glue on the wreath and begin carefully laying the boa on top. you’re going to wrap the boa around the wreath 2 times, so start wrapping toward the middle first.

continue working your way around, gluing and gently pressing the boa into the glue, until you’ve wrapped the boa around twice. be careful – you only need a little glue for this. you’ll probably burn your self and glue a bunch of feathers to your fingers. don’t say i didn’t warn you. when you’ve wrapped the boa around twice, cut the rest of the boa off and glue the end down.

voila! you’re done! now find a great spot to set or hang your wreath. i put mine in front of a mirror this year, hung by a ribbon that is tacked to the back.

here are some more great wreaths for some holiday inspiration:
