nope, i didn’t die

sorry for the unannounced blog break. as much as i felt guilt for not getting on here to give updates, its been a really wonderful break – a break from not only blogging, but from reading blogs (gasp!) and checking my email frequently.
the weeks leading up to christmas were hectic to say the least: completing lots of custom orders (didn’t i say i wouldn’t do those?), hosting parties and boutiques, going to parties, and oh yeah, making all my christmas gifts. i know, i’m crazy. actually, this year my husband made the last 3 gifts i couldn’t muster up the strength to make. he gave the nephews cash instead. i’m sure they appreciated that more than any cutesy gift i could muster!
ok, i guess i’m lying a bit. i didn’t handmake all of the gifts. our kids get stocking gifts from santa and one “big” gift from him, then we give them 3 smaller gifts (like Jesus got). this year the gifts were a combo of handmade and walmart made (or china made, i guess). but all the others were handmade, i promise!
and things were so stinkin’ crazy that i took not a single pic of the gifts i made, and they were pretty cute, i must say. actually i can say anything i want about them since i don’t have any pictures to prove it!
we spent over a week with my husband’s family and had a *fabulous* time. truly. we had so much time spent with family that my kids had permagrins from ear to ear. we had an amazing “family day” that lasted from morning ’til night including b-fast by the kids, the first annual cheney family olympics, lunch made by the losers (not me!), bumper bowling, pizza, and watching the grinch. we also had a siblings only night out and i spent the last day in my jammies until 4 o’clock. all in all, a great holiday where i really relaxed and spent a ton of time with my family.
so now its a new year! i have so many plans for 2009, one of them is to blog more frequently. up next will be my new year’s resolutions…

here’s a little pictoral (?) recap of my year, sideways pictures and all. i guess that makes it even more accurate!

Don’t you love custom orders right before Christmas? The same thing happened to me. Oh well, I got them done! :)

I was beginning to think some one knocked you out with one of your beautiful glittered candlesticks!
