the girly skirt

one of our many projects this weekend was to make the girls their matching easter skirts. i’ve had this pattern hanging in front of me at my sewing desk for months now, but just didn’t have the motivation to start it. it’s called the girly skirt, by pink fig.

each skirt took a little longer than the hour the directions said, but it still was really easy. i will definitely be making this skirt again. and it hangs so great, and is super twirly, which the girls love.

the fabric on the hem and the waistband is from a clearance sheet set from target, and the main body fabric is iota by robert kaufman. i wasn’t crazy about the main fabric at first, but it grows on me every time i see it. it has a funky bohemian feel to me.

we’re hoping to finish the baby boy quilt top today, so hopefully i’ll get to share that soon!

I just found your imperfect from another blog roll. I also have an imperfect – but I have to say, your imperfection looks so much better than mine! Love your blog (and those skirts – DARLING!), can’t wait to read more.

Geez these girls are cuties, that hair as well how did you get them to sit still to curl it like that? I love the skirts and the girls make the perfect modles, I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter.

i had to put my girls hair in sponge curlers the night before, with lots of mousse. tyler, the one with long brown hair, has naturally amazing curls, so my girls wanted to match.
