GUEST BLOGGER NICOLE: 2 good 2 to be true

We are driving to see Lindsey and fam this Thursday for Easter AND they are coming to see us for the 4th of July. 2 visits on the books…Too good to be true! I don’t think we have managed this since pre-kids. A few things we will do during our short visit to SLO…
1. Me and my BF…Hug, walk arm and arm as often as possible, and hug more. A phone friendship is a hug neglected friendship
2. Tyler will sleep with Grace and Lily
3. Drew will try to
4. Hawk and Silas will run a muck. Whatever dirty little tricks they have, they will be sharing them with each other. We will each have more trouble on our hands when these little guys are through with each other.
5. Sean and Rick will quote movie lines, watch the rascals so we can sneak off to the fabric store, and enjoy a beer or two. Linds…that reminds me…pig sandwiches for the guys for sure!
6. Start on my babes bedding…boy bedding is always so stinkin’ hard!
7. Search for Easter eggs and wear matching outfits to church (the kids of course)
8. Cook up some yummy fish tacos.
9.Pontificate and justify just how big I am for pregnancy #4 with the girl who has seen (or talked) me through 60 pounds of extra weight…3 OTHER times over….Yes, it is true!
10. Most importantly, we will celebrate Jesus rising on that glorious Easter morn with our friends who are like family.

So, no big tours today… just the living room. It is right off the kitchen… super open everywhere.

THE COUCH:
Bleachable slip cover (essential around here) and big and comfy… oh and messy!

THE WINDOW:
From a flea market in Portland…salvaged from an old house in Kansas…30 photos of my favorite people…it doesn’t get much better than this for a photo junkie who has way too many pictures of her kiddos

THE CHAIR:My mom and I recovered this with very inexpensive fabric from Joann’s fabrics. She is the queen of piping and details…I am master of “do it quick hack-job” so it was great to have her on hand. The chair was a flea-garage sale purchase for $40.

SIDE TABLE:
I chalked painted the top of this so we could leave messages for visitors…oh look, tyler wrote a little note to you.

TABLE:
Linds and I bought this years ago…both Prego…with no brawn to help us huff our purchases around…at the best flea market in the world. We paid a very stinky (yes, I mean smelly) man to help us load up my little SUV. It was stacked so high for the hour drive home that I am surprised we didn’t get pulled over. I have painted this quite a few times…for now it is happy being yellow. A little Easter love in a $5 bird cage I found last year.

THE OTTOMAN:
World Market clearance floor model…a steal!

GRANDMA’S HUTCH:
Super old…needs a lot of love…so much that I cannot bring myself to start. So… quick fix, paint the hardware turquoise and antique it….so much better.

THE RAIN GUTTER:
An old rain gutter flipped upside down to hold pictures. Look at Hawken chowin’ that watermelon…I could eat him!

That’s home for us…thanks for visiting! Next week I will be home again and coming off the high of just having been with Lindsey, Sean, and my amazing little surrogate nieces and nephew. Quite frankly, I may be too depressed to come talk to you. But I’ll eventually muster up the

motivation and be back.

buh-bye,

nicole

p.s. Joy, could it be true? Will I get to meet you face-to-face this visit?

Oh my, the chair – the ottoman – the turquoise hardware! Is it wrong to ask three pieces of furniture to marry me? :o)
