guest blogger…nicole "washed and ready"

hey! hey! i am back for a quick little tease. messy house = no tours today. but i did come to share a little stack of love with ya’ll.
this is what i am starting with…

i have big plans to make some clothes for my soon to be kindergartener.

an edith twirl in this beeoooteeful trio

how about pink fig’s girly skirt with this funky combo?

this screams “dress” around here…i am trying this one

and this will be a tank top with the same pattern

so, truth be told…i am scared to death. tyler is super excited…she loved helping me pick out the fabrics and the patterns and cannot wait to rock these little numbers. however, i don’t sew clothing. i can hack together a great costume but i have never made anything worthy of wash and wear. Her excitement is my motivation and this blog post is the evidence that a stack of washed and ready fabric is waiting for me. I will try not to be discouraged by the fact that i bought her the most adorable dress yesterday at old navy for 8 bucks. 8 bucks? the fabric for these costs more than that.

i am clinging to the simple thought that homemade screams “love” around here. am i crazy?

    The American Homemaker says:

I sew costumes too and crafty stuff, but I’m just not good enough for actually clothing :)

Not crazy at all, it is so worth it to see how cute she will look in the end!

Homemade does scream LOVE, my mother always made me clothing and I still love all of those outfits from growing up. Although Old Navy does have great bargins and there kids clothing is super cute.

i love that “homemade screams love.”
i am attempting to “scream love’ at my children with ruffles and rick rack, pencil skirts, and appliques.

and now i am going to check out nicole’s suggested patterns.
maybe i can scream louder :-)
