master bedroom redo, part 1

our master bedroom is the last room in the house i get to.
it’s where i shove the things that don’t have a home,
where leftover furniture migrates to,
where (up until this weekend) there were even some moving boxes.
we moved in over 3 years ago!

so i want to give my room a little love.
for free.
buuuut… i know that’s not entirely possibly,
but i’m coming up with some plans to try to anyway (more on that later).

so where do i start?

fabric of course!

months back i fell in love with the arcadia line of fabric while i was choosing fabric for my (in)courage line.
it is funky and modern, but i think will mix well with vintage pieces, too.

i think i’m probably going to go neutral on the bedding, with crazy pillows on top, but as i was scouring the lovely target i couldn’t help but gravitate towards the dwell studio line.
the options in store are great, but you have to go online to see them all.
from crib bedding to toddler bedding to child bedding to teen bedding to grownup bedding –
its all amazing!
and crazy affordable, especially when you compare it to the non-target version of dwell studio.

so for your viewing pleasure,
i present my favorites of the dwell line:

ahh! love it! i could stare at them all day! maybe i should choose one for my room?

We're the same way… all the "random" furniture is in the master bedroom…and yes, we still have some moving boxes in there too. LOL (we moved in 4 years ago)

I LOVE the Dwell line! My fave is the black/white bedding you have pictured…so many possibilities with that one!

I could have COMPLETELY said that entire first paragraph. All of it is true to me, even the moving boxes. ;)

seriously…you just described our room. I feel like the rest of my house is pretty "done", but then my room is just hodge podge random furniture that we didn't want to throw out so it all got tossed into my room. I really want to re-do my room, but i can't afford new furniture and i'm not in any position to be yard sale-ing right now!

I'm so glad to find that I am not the only one that does that with my master bedroom! I don't have unpacked boxes, though everything else is pretty accurate!

Love those choices! So hard to pick just one!

I love all the Dwell Studio stuff at Target. They even make infant toys and bouncer seats. I just had a baby and splurged on the "real" Dwell Studio crib sheet and some blankets, but love, love the stuff at Target! Good luck on an affordable re-do!

So true…our bedroom is supposed to be our santuary, and yet we just check stuff in there to get it out of the way! So frustrating. Maybe one day I'll figure it out! Love your products!

I just used some of that fabric for my fall party. I love it! Can't wait to see what you do with your room. Ours has definitely been ignored as well… maybe I should get on that…

It will be exciting to see what you do with your master BR! I re-did ours this summer and I'm so enjoying it!

All beautiful choices! Just my style too. I love, love, love the fabric. :)

  13. 13

i love all the bedding you pictured. we live hours away from the nearest target; i had no idea this bedding existed.

you have such great style, i'm sure your bedroom is going to be fabulous.

where can you purchase this fabric online?! i have been searching to no avail. any clues?

  15. 15

dina – it is really hard to find these fabrics online. i would start with a google search for arcadia fabrics and you may have to buy them at different places. etsy is also a good place to search. good luck!

i just finished ours … so much work but i love the outcome! looking forward to seeing what you do.
