guest blogger nicole: ok. ok. ok!

{fyi – this is a guest post by my best friend nicole. get out the tissue…}

I have been avoiding doing this for far too long… but i owe it to my girl to get it done. for those of you that are new around here, i am nicole {and no, she doesn’t have a blog!}. otherwise known as as lindsey’s guest blogging best friend who lived in a house in oregon with a rockin’ kitchen where i hung my family rules. i am also the girl who sold that house, and linds came to visit and pack me up so that we could be joined forever and ever together in san luis obispo (where she lives). however, after moving to slo, having my 4th babe, and enjoying far too little of my bff and her beautiful family…

we moved back to bend after only 3 and half months…

of course, part of the reason i haven’t guest blogged in forever is because the insanity of life changes and moves. but it is more because i am tired of telling the story. i am often tempted to write it up and print it on business cards to pass out. equally exhausted is lindsey who still bumps into people who say, “isn’t it great having your best friend here?”. … not fun for her at all. so sorry linds…

the details are a bore… i will save you from them. besides, now you all know how I feel about telling the story.

of course, even though we chose this, i do miss her. i miss her so much it aches. weekly. daily. hourly. sometimes by the minute.

we had an action packed, wonderful time while there. my hubby hardly worked and we spent time at the beach…

we had a BABY! still so crazy to think that i moved there only weeks before he was born… and lindsey was there to help me through my delivery…

went peach picking with a 1 week old…
tyler and gracie started kinder and first together…
sean and linds were able love on little curren …

we treat-or-treated together …
and we actually wore costumes that didn’t require winter coats and hats… gotta love that cali weather…
we celebrated lulu’s 4th b-day…
the boys turned 2 together …

the kids ran wild together …

and we did a lot of this…

so, what now? lindsey and i are getting our groove back. we are back to a phone friendship…something we have known for years. and we TRY to see the brighter side. right, linds? maybe we’ll sneak off to portland again and we can always look forward to a summer visit with …

the pancake breakfast and parade…

the boys on their “freedom ride”

cruddy fireworks…

working a summerfest booth for the pleated poppy

silliness guaranteed (but i won’t be 8 months prego!)

sorry far WAY TOO MANY PICTURES! it is sort of therapeutic for me…
probably depressing for lindsey. {just a bit… *sniff*}
i’ll be back soon with something cheerier…promise!
:) nicole

    So how far is Bend from Eugene? We are heading up there after an evening wedding on Saturday to visit our daughter. Wish we could come by and meet you. I moved from SLO to Redondo Beach, so never got the pleasure to meet you Nicole. Sad it didn't work out, but glad you can still keep in touch with you bff. My bff and I try to figure out creative ways to see each other since we are only 3 hours away. It's hard though with the busyness of life. God bless you. And you, too, Linds.

    *HUGS* I'm sorry you had to move far away again, Nicole!

    I'm happy to hear that you two (and your families!) are able to get into the long distance friendship groove again, tho. My jr. high bestie moved across the country just a year after we became friends – and 20 years later she's still across the country, and we're still besties! My college bestie lives 6 hours away, but thank God for the internet, where we all get to stay connected! : )

    Sorry so long – just wanted to share that you're not alone, and thank you for reminding ME that I'm not alone, either.

    Sorry to hear that your BFF moved away. I know that is tough I moved away from mine when my daughter was 2 weeks old and then she moved to Japan a year after I moved to Georgia. But her husband is in the Military so we knew that someday we would not be together but my husband got a new job the day I gave birthday to our daughter. I hope that you all can get together real soon.

    That is so sad! I really ache for you all.. I know you're tired of telling it, but I'm curious why! Looking forward to both of you blogging, as usual!
