what i wore wednesday

ok, let’s start this off with a confession or two.

(caught your attention, didn’t i?!)

i suck  in my stomach in every picture.

e.v.e.r.y. one.

after taking so many pics i finally noticed the shadow under my belly.

just keeping it real.

or telling you i’m fake?

not sure which one!

and my other secret?

i am trying really hard to be comfortable taking pics of myself, but to be honest,

it’s so much easier to have the camera in front of my face.

somehow it removes me from the embarrassment!

so to those of you who are bashful about joining the rest of us in wiww posts,

just put your camera in front of your face and i promise it makes it easier!

looks like i didn’t do much this day other than grab my sweater off the floor!

old man sweater – forever 21

grey tank – target

jammie pants – target (newish)

camera strap – shey b

little girl in all pink – not for sale

ok, yes i know the idea of wiww was to encourage each other to get out of our sweats,

but we went on a family bike ride this day, so there!

hat – local shop

sweatshirt – old navy

t-shirt – sean’s business

sweats – forever21

tennies – payless

here i go stepping out of my comfort zone again!

i was again trying to channel my inner edie (my blissdom roomie) – love her style!

cardi – old navy

ruffle tank – old navy

lacy tank under – american eagle (hand me down)

petal drop necklace – the pleated poppy

skirt – made by me – tute coming soon!

tall socks – target

boots – target (new!)

cute backside of my man – all mine!

chunky sweater – old navy

jeans – local shop

flats – paris

i really want to fix up this sweater. i love the asymmetry of it, but rarely does the front stay closed with buttons only at the neckline.  its tends to open more maternity style.  i want to add chunky wooden buttons all down the side with snaps under to hold it in place.  i’ll just add that to my to-do list.

and see the hair?

now scroll down…

can you tell i chopped off another couple inches?

i got it cut last week and then decided yesterday it was just not short enough so i went back for a little fix.

its crazy short in the back and super easy to style – love it!

this was my travel outfit to the creative connection.

i think this is always my travel outfit – so comfy!

sweater – gift from my sister (best sweater sister ever!)

tank – old navy

jeans – target

shoes – marshalls

your turn!

  7. 7

Love those Target boots!! Looks super cute with the skirt. I’m a shortie, so I don’t think it would look right on me, but it looks great on you!

  8. 8

I want to channel my “inner Edie” too…funky…

  9. 9

love your style and you are just so cute in anything…i am not on the other hand. but, i am going to join in next week…i need to get some new fall schedule for my blog and this will be perfect!

  10. 10

I’m off to Target today to get me some boots! I’ve passed them too many times!

  11. 11

Lindsey, I love that skirt! Can’t wait to see you tutorial for it. I’ve attempted skirts several times, but they never quite turn out right… :)

  12. 12

Love the chunky sweater from Old Navy. I need to take a trip to Target for some boots love the ones you have. Oh, and I would love to see a picture of the back of your haircut mine is cut similiar. Thanks for sharing I get so much inspiration from WIWW I may join in next week.

  13. 13

I think chunky buttons would look great on that cute sweater! Love the tall socks and boots with the skirt! And I think your hair looks great short! Have a great week!

  14. 14

Girlfriend! There is no reason for you to be sucking in your gut or hiding your face! I always look at your post and think what cute outfits you put together, and how I would love to have that same look in my closet, but I am 5’1″ and weigh *&%lbs over what I’m supposed to weigh, so not happening right now.

  15. 15

I love your Target boots! I am so thankful for your confession. I post pics of my outfits all the time on my blog, and I always have to suck in too. The pregnancy left overs just aren’t going away. Thanks for keepin it real. I love it when “big” bloggers are genuine. I plan on replying to your email and I’m looking forward to working with the pleated poppy!

  16. 16

You look beautiful, I love your style! Thanks for having the courage to take pictures of yourself and inspire us all!

    Lisa Walker says:

Could we see the back of your cute haircut???? Your outfits are darling

  18. 18

I love that cute chunky old navy sweater. Will you repost it after you fix it! It is soooo cute. Well you are sooo cute, the clothes just compliment cute you! I love the pjs, you know it is important to keep it real sometimes. Moms don’t always get it all together everyday! Keep up the cute posts!

  19. 19

i’m loving your new blog ms. lindsey! and what a sweet surprise to see such kind linky love. not everyone likes my bohemian ways so i appreciate your support! you always look adorable and i couldn’t be happier to call you my friend!
    love to you,

hope you have a blast in mn!

  20. 20

You are so super cute! And I am going to remember the “put the camera infront of the face thing” because it is hard for me for sure.

  21. 21

I must say I’m JEALOUS over seeing you wear sweaters! It’s 92 degrees right now in NC and we are nowhere near sweater weather unfortunately. One day I’ll join in on this linky fun, but that would mean I’d HAVE to get dressed. :)

  22. 22

I suck in my mommy tummy too! But I am proud of my lil tummy I had 3 kids of my own it could have been worse! However it adds character. I do plan on strengthening my muscles a lil so it will disappear a little if I can. Thank you for keeping it real!

    Blessings & Giggles

  23. 23

You always look so adorable! I love those boots!

And, dang, I need to start sucking in my stomach. Why didn’t I think of that?

  24. 24

Oooo – I’m inspired! I’ll have to take it up a notch and join in the party next week..

  25. 25

Love the third and fifth looks, especially the Target boots and that fab sweater that your sis gave you! Great outfits this week :)

  26. 26

I love your “out of my comfort zone” outfit….so cute!

I also love what you said in the beginning of your post. I have been a WiWW lurker for about a month now…I have wanted to participate but Yikes! that first pick was not what I wanted. I am trying to loose weight and get a whole new me…thought this would be a great way to document it…yeah, If you are interested I blogged about it last week here: http://mamaolie.blogspot.com/2010/09/weight-watchers-wednesdayand-fashion-or.html

Thanks for sharing….I love your blog.

  27. 27

    looooove the sweaters!

  28. 28

Lindsey, I envy that you can already wear fall clothes! I have to pretend in 85 degrees…

I bought those Target boots too and was waffling but seeing them on you made my decision to keep them. So cute on you! Mine are snug-ola in the calf (thank you genes and running calves).

One of these weeks I’ll join this WIW post. Maybe in the fall when clothes are cuter for me?

Oh, Old Navy sweater is adorable!

  29. 29

I love your WIWWs!!! I love seeing all the cute things you put together! : ) I’m plain jane jeans and tshirt kinda gal…so, no WIWW for me, but I enjoy checking everyone else’s out and pretending that I could ever look that cute!

  30. 30

I really love your chunky sweater, I would like to have one…but Malaysian weather will never give me a chance to fit it on….:)

  31. 31

I can never figure out where you live… and how you have gotten to wear jeans and sweaters all summer. I’m jealous of your cool climate, wherever it is!

And PS, your “out of your comfort zone” look is absolutely adorable. One of those, “you may think this looks weird but everyone else will love it” sort of thing.

  32. 33

Great new boots from Target! The entire outfit looks super cute. I also really like the chunky Old Navy sweater. THANKS for confessing that you suck in your stomach. I’ve had two 9.5 pound babies, and I’m afraid my stomach will never ever be the same again. That confession made my day and made me feel a little bit better about myself. And, I think it’s a lot easier to hide behind the camera for WIWW. It took me weeks before I worked up enough courage to show my face.

  33. 34

I love that you do this! It gives me the inspiration to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. I’ve had so much fun checking out the other linkups. Maybe I’ll get brave enough to link in, sometime, too!

  34. 35

i love your style – both when you branch out and when you are in sweats…maybe that is because these days i am completely unemployed and in sweats and pjs more often than not. i like the inspiration.
that sweater from old navy with the button..is it new? its super cute!

  35. 37

i love those boots! I saw them on target’s website recently and now i think i’m going to have to make a target run to check them out in person! you look fabulous – even in pj’s! :)

  36. 38

I understand…I turn my face in every outfit pic too. It’s hard enough standing there all vulnerable taking a picture of my body…I don’t want to worry about my face too!

yours are fun, and I love the occasional peek at your cute face.

    xo, cassie

  37. 39

Still loving that grey old man sweater. Just have to ask-where do you live that it’s cool enough to wear sweaters already?! It’s still in the 90’s here!

  38. 41

Putting the camera over the face DOES make it easier :). Love those Target boots and chunky white sweater!

  39. 42

Love these outfits – you have the most adorable style! I’m a sucker for boots, a skirt and a sweater – my favorite fall outfit. :)
