i heart fabric

i mean, i really, really love it.

i was so giddy last week when another lovely package arrived from hawthorne threads.

whenever i get a package from them i drop whatever i’m working on and tear into that package immediately.

then i thumb through it, try different pairings, then move immediately to refolding it and stacking it with my other fabric and looking at all the color coordinated loveliness.

*sigh*

there is some amazing new anna maria horner stuff that i can’t wait to cut into.

yep, i’m a dork.

I love that picture. What a great little spot. If that was in my house, I would sit down with a cup of coffee every morning and just stare at it. Yep, I think that’s how I would start my day.

Hahaha…I love Kate’s comment above:) I just ordered some midwest modern martini in mustard to make pillowcases for my master BR remodel we’ll be doing this winter(hopefully). Funny how fabric can make us so happy:)

  16. 16

You are so not a dork! I can’t believe how much joy and pleasure I get from color, texture, and pattern. It is like they complete me!
By the way, last week was my first time participating in What I Wore Wednesday. However, I have been sick at home for the last three days, and I believe blogland will rest easier knowing that because of that I will not be participating in it this week – believe me, it is for the good of the people…..

  17. 17

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your stacks of fabric. So colorful. Those stacks would make anyone happy….I would think. :)

  18. 18

Okay, but a lovely “dork” that does great things with it! The way you feel about fabric and what you do when you get it…is EXACTLY how I feel about my beads! *sigh* Nothing like it. Heavenly.

  19. 19

I feel the same way about fabric. The fabric you use is always so beautiful! Yellows and blues, my favorite!

If I had beautiful fabric like that being delivered to my house, I’d be pretty excited too! I’ve actually never bought designer fabric. I’ve never ordered any online. I usually stick with whatever my 40% off coupon can get me at Joanne’s. Seeing all your beautiful fabric sure tempts me to spend a little more . . .

  27. 27

I love fabric too! My best friend loves her fabric SO MUCH that she will take a few out, pet them, then perfectly refold them just right. Fabric is so fun. Both to look at, and to touch.

  28. 28

oh wow! i am soo jealous of your fabric stash and organization!!

  29. 29

Oh my gosh! I LOVE Hawthorne Threads and I do exactly the same thing – my husband laughs at me b/c I will put an order in and then for DAYS afterward I am checking all the doors (we have three) expectantly for the package. He says he always knows knows the outcome because I either mope for hours or act like I won the lottery ! =o) Hawthorn has such lovely fabrics, and they get all the new releases super fast!
