what i wore wednesday

thanks for joining me again for our weekly accountability group to get out of our sweats and “get dressed”!

or, better put, by piperlime: “ok.  it’s time.  time to leave the pajamas at home and the flip-flops at the beach.  it’s time to give up lazy dressing altogether because it’s time to look fabulous again.”

thanks, piperlime.  now, can i have some free shoes?

my outfit above – ready for our fundraiser, but not in costume yet.

top – gift from a friend, from marshall’s i think

skinnies – forever 21

bronze flats – target

just a little costume recap.

i think both my dress and cape were drapes in their previous lives!

sunday church

this was one of those days where i tried on a few different outfits and nothing was working.  i tried wearing a skirt with tights and flats, but the tights and flats looked wrong together, but my heels that would’ve worked are too small for me after having kids, and i really needed to have black boots but i don’t so now that’s on my christmas wishlist.  phew!  it’s hard being a girl!  guys just grab a shirt, pants and shoes, and they’re good to go – never worrying about pant length and heel height.

i settled on:

black tank – ??? cheap

wrapped cardi – target

trousers – forever 21

flats – target

belt – target clearance ages ago.  i think this was my first time wearing it.

necklace – lisa leonard designs – similar to this one, but gold instead of silver

ok, this pic makes me laugh.

this is the outfit i don’t want to be wearing, but i wore it intentionally.  i put it on in the morning because i decided i need to start exercising again.  after all, its only been 2 years since i ran a 1/2 marathon and then haven’t exercised since.  no joke.  so i decided to walk, but didn’t really want to, but thought if i got dressed in walking clothes i’d be more likely to do it.  and i walked.  and i did not prefer it.  so lonely!  and boring.  i really need to charge sean’s my ipod and add some new music to it.  and i need to work up to running soon because i need the whole exercise thing to go quicker because, like i said, i do not prefer it.

so the clothes:

sweatshirt and ill-fitting yoga pants – target

tank – onesource (sean’s biz)

and running socks that haven’t seen the inside of a running shoe in a long time!

i took this one from the side since the back is way cuter than the plain front.  and i didn’t leave the house all day and felt no need to accessorize.

top – target

jeans – forever 21

and since i didn’t leave the house all day, i decided that after dinner i had worn regular clothes long enough and snuggled into my cozies.  i say to piperlime: pshaw!  i’m cold and i want to be comfy today!

how about you? did you get out of your jammies this week and document it for us?

are you still looking for great accessories to dress up your outfits?  check out my giveaway with olive bungalow that will be ending so soon!

i’m trying something new to me with the linky – thumbnails!  just pick out your favorite pic to add (hopefully this works!).

  1. 1

    Cute as always.

  2. 2

YOu look great and THANK YOU for the thumbnails!!!!!!!!!! I personally couldnt stand the lists of links. This is so much better:)

  3. 3

    Hey Twang,

You know that your iPhone is also an iPod so you can just load music on to that and since it’s your phone it’s always charged. xoxo

  4. 4

I’m really liking the thumbnails. Nice change :) Also, I wore a belt for the first time this week, sort of like yours. I know this is dumb, but it was a big deal for me because I’m usuallly afraid of belts. Weird, I know. Thanks for hosting the fun!

  5. 5

I love your costumes Lindsey! How cute. Drapes or not drapes, I think you look fab.

  6. 6

Lindsey! I think we are wearing the same Target shirt…the one you took from behind…I LOVE it!

  7. 7

Even your cozies are cuter than mine LOL I’m reading Fashion for Dummies (one of my blog wins) – totally need this book (me, not you obviously).

  8. 8

You are adorable…what can I say….pajamas and all….love that sweater! It does look so comfy!

  9. 9

Cute as always. Your costumes were fab! Love them!

  10. 10

You’ve reignited my love of thrift shopping. I hadn’t been shopping in so long, and boy was my clothing inventory dwindling. I only have two days a week to really enjoy my new fashion finds, but I’m enjoying it. : )

  11. 11

Yep, I have those days when the outfits I tried on just didn’t cut it…You still look cute, though! And, of course, I looove your medieval outfit. :)

    Have a lovely Wednesday!

  12. 12

    Hi Lindsey!
I am new to linking up with you on wiww! I discovered your blog through my Mom and just about everyone else too. Your outfits are always so fun and so cute. And your are one crafty lady. I love your work and your great ideas. I had fun taking my pictures this week. Can’t wait to link up again with ya!

Nice to meet you, and happy Wednesday! :)

  13. 13

Funny, but your Sunday church outfit is my favorite! I always find that’s the way….I’ll feel totally “ehh” about an outfit but it’s the one I get the most compliments on. I envy your lean physique!!

  14. 14

Thanks so much for inspiring us stay at homer’s (and everyone for that matter!) to make an effort each day. Hosting a link up helps us little bloggers find new followers and readership. You are so awesome! You inspired me to try a scarf this week ;)

  15. 15

I’m still not brave enough to link up yet, but you have inspired me to be a bit more intentional about my wardrobe. My post-babies body is the bane of my existence and nothing fits right. I had my last child 3 years ago and I still look 6 months pregnant…. but… we work with what we’ve got right?

Does it count as spending the day in your pajamas if you intentionally choose to sleep in your clothes? I hate to admit but on more than one occasion lately I’ve just worn the shirt I was wearing that day to bed…. only to wake up the next morning and pull on yoga pants and head off to school!

Thanks for being a great inspiration on so many levels!!

  16. 16

    I love your costume!

    Just Better Together

  17. 17

I love that pleated back Target top! And cute curls too!

  18. 18

Love the thumbnails idea! I can never remember which sites I’ve looked at, and people’s faces make it much easier to remember!

    Michele Alger says:

Obviously I don’t know what I’m doing. I linked 3 times and can’t delete two of them. I’m so SORRY! I don’t think I’ll be doing this again. Thank you so much though, I enjoy your blog every day. :-P

  20. 20

I so so love your hair curly! As a stick straight gal myself, I know the effort that goes into curling and I so share your desire for curls! I love the costumes and your kiddo’s school, it sounds incredible.

  21. 21

    GREAT costumes!

  22. 22

I LOVE your church outfit. I can’t believe it was something you threw together. The belt is adorable!

  23. 23

You have the cutest stinkin outfits!!

  24. 24

Cute outfits! And you are super cute, you should show your face in your photos! I want to join up in the fun but first I have to actually figure out how to put together a decent outfit!

  25. 25

I am so glad I stumbled onto your blog this morning. I’m battling a bad cold, so have had lots of blog-browsing time. I think it’s great that you have given women a safe and comfortable place to explore their “fashionista” side. It’s so important for women of all ages (and I’m considerably older than just about everyone I’ve seen so far) to realize how healthy it is for their own psyche to get dressed every day. I’ve always done this, even when our children were infants, and I did it for me. I didn’t do it for my hubby, my mother, friends, neighbors or anyone but me. I have become a follower and will consider joining your party in the future. I just might set a new precedent for retired grandmothers out there. There are plenty in my age group who don’t see the need to put out any effort in their appearance anymore and that’s very sad. You and your followers keep up the good work. Happy New Year!
