what i wore wednesday

hey ladies!  thanks for joining me for another week of what i wore wednesday!  thanks for keeping me accountable, yet again, to getting out of my sweats and putting a little effort into my appearances.

this week we were out of town (in santa barbara) for the long school break.  sean had a little work there but mostly we just had a much needed family vacation.  we realized that we very rarely get away as just our family – we usually travel to family or friends, or with them – so this week was such a treat for us!  but more on that later…

as for my clothes:

grey long sleeve – forever 21

dress – local boutique

jeans & boots – target

necklace – allora handmade

taking pictures in another location is difficult!  and the crazy weather (sunny but really chilly to torrential rain) made dressing pretty hard, too.  mostly i just wore tons of layers!

hat, cardi, mustard top, & jeans – target

boots – forever 21

ruffled scarf – the pleated poppy

i really don’t know how you all wear these belts all day?!  it seriously is so uncomfortable, but it did make the outfit a little more interesting.

old man sweater, jeans, boots, and belt – forever 21

top – nations outfitters

necklace – lisa leonard designs

hat, boots, and jeans – target

old man sweater – forever 21

shirt – made by me

petal pusher (on hat) – the pleated poppy

necklace – lisa leonard designs

my pretty pretty bracelet – the perfect combination of work and family!  i love the buttons that nod towards my love for sewing, but with my kiddos names on it!  (ps – names are reversed since i took the pic in the mirror) – from lisa leonard designs

and i’ve been loving my ruffled scarves lately (i think i need a few more!).  its been fun trying different ways to wear them – i’ll share some options soon!

i was adamantly opposed to skinny jeans for so long, when i finally gave in to their perfection i felt like i needed to wear a longer top with them.  this was new for me to wear a shorter top with skinnies, but i was really happy with it!

sweater – nordstrom

tank – old navy

skinnies – forever 21

shoes – target

necklace – allora handmade

i just wanted to take a minute to thank you all for supporting my blog and my shop.  i still feel so many days like i have no idea what i’m doing, yet you still visit, comment and support me – thank you.  yesterday was a big day for me, listing a whole pile of  new products, and restocking many as well.  i still have a good handful of products left to list today if i get a chance (fun new zippered pouches!!!), so stop into my shop if you have a minute to see the new finds!

link up below, and be sure to visit a few of our friends – it is so fun to meet so many of you!  thank you again for joining me!

and a little linking tip for you:  with wiww growing like it has, i don’t get the time to visit each of you like i used to. BUT, those of you who choose great thumbnail pictures or are clever with your wording in your title definitely get my attention more than some of the others.  just something to think about…

  1. 1

Dear Lindsey! It’s all perfect – thanks for sharing.

  2. 2

    Very cute!

  3. 3

Thank you for the great link up! The belts that are thick can get uncomfortable but sure do spice up the outfit, yours looks great. Your ruffled scarves are sooooo pretty. Your looking great and adorable as always and you can definitely pull off skinnies with a short shirt!

  4. 4

Loving that nations outfitters top. Too cute. All outfits A plus as usual!

  5. 5

I’m a newbie here, but love hanging out in this fun and creative space! It makes me happy to be here! So blessed by you Lindsey!

    {love the grey and white outfit!!}

  6. 6

I just love your first outfit – so cute! Happy you had a family vacation, those are always good! :)

  7. 7

Love how you wear the scarf AND a necklace. I always thought it was either/or and I’m always conflicted, wanting to wear my necklace but also wanting to wear a scarf. Now I will do both! So cute!

  8. 8

I am also a fighter of skinny jeans. I just do NOT have the figure for it. Secret: I tried on a pair in Target this week. I also thought I would have to wear longgggg tops …so I passed this time. I still may give in or wait it out til next fall. LOL
I also find the belts on top a tad conforming in an outfit. But yes, I’m trying out that look too. ;-)
All the ladies are INSPIRING me to step out of my comfort zone with outfits and color choices. I love it! A new way of looking at my drab closet. Thanks for hosting! You ALWAYS look adorable.

  9. 9

I love your blog. I love your shop. I’m sure I’d love YOU if I ever met you! Thanks for all the inspiration! Inspires me to wear my “crafty pants” more often:)

  10. 10

If not for WIWW posts from you and others, I would never have purchased skinny jeans! I love that you have put this together. It has inspired me to go out of my comfort zone and try a little harder than pants, top, jacket.

Love all your outfits this week, especially the ones with your awesome scarf!

  11. 11

You always look adorable! I linked up twice with 2 different pictures accidentally–technical difficulties, it rejected the first pic on my end, but I guess it posted anyway…??? So feel free to delete one! Thanks for hosting, it’s so much fun!

  12. 12

Glad someone else is loving those Target boots as much as me — I wear them allll the time! And just as I was getting used to skinny jeans, I get preggo and can no longer wear them! :)

  13. 13

Love the outfits Lindsey, especially the first one, so cute!

  14. 14

love the miniature christmas tree in the hotel room!

  15. 15

    So pretty! Love the necklaces!

  16. 16

Cute outfits and thanks for hosting!

  17. 17

I just have to say that you always look so cute. And I sooo hear ya on the belted sweater thing! I’ve only been bold enough to try it once.

  18. 18

You are simply darling! I love, love, love how you dress! Love it!!

  19. 19

    I love your boots!

  20. 20

Very cute looks this week! LOVE the Lisa L. jewelry! It really makes an outfit complete! I’m joining in again! EEEEE!!! Hugs! ♥♥♥

  21. 21

Cute outfits! Just wanted to send a little thank you for doing WIWW. I’ve never joined in the party but it has definitely helped me get out of my lounge-wear funk and made me excited to perty myself up. I’m having fun with clothes and design more than I ever have before in part thanks to you.

P.S. You have the greatest luck when it comes to finding shoes at Target! I’ve tried several times and walk away with nothing as it almost seems like our Target is not like your Target. :)

  22. 22

I’ve seen Allorah Handmade ALL over the blogosphere lately… How fun!

  23. 23

Your outfits are always so cute and you almost have me convinced to try skinny jeans. :) I tried one pair on awhile back and I obviously picked the wrong pair because boy were they NOT flattering. LOL :) Love your shop too – such an inspiration for a fellow crafter/artist.

  24. 24

I have those same Target boots! Love them! :)

  25. 25

I LOVE the belt! Looking lovely as always :)

  26. 26

I totally need to come to your house & get tips on how to be so cute! I love the first outfit best, but would love any of them to be mine! Haha! Always great accessorizing as well!

  27. 27

haha, i agree on the belts! i add them to a lot of outfits because i’m….curvy. to say the least. i think it gives me a waistline. but they are so. stinkin’. uncomfortable! and i also avoided skinny jeans like the plague, but now i realize they are a great fit! you rocked them with the short shirt! you look great!

  28. 28

I’m in love with your necklace in that first picture.

  29. 29

the only nice thing about those belts (besides their cuteness) is when you take them off at the end of the day and your ribs let out the most satisfied sigh of relief

  30. 30

I just love this. Trying so hard to get my act together enough to link up for next week (third attempt). Thanks for doing this – love the inspiration from you and everyone who participates!
