spring front porch

now that our weather is warming up i decided to spruce up our front porch a bit.

when the weather is nice, we love to eat out here.  sean and i made this table years ago (our 1st table in our 1st apartment), from a salvaged gate and posts from a 4-poster bed.  still love it.

i (read: sean) just hung these lanterns over our table – love!

i planted these geraniums a few months ago to replace the, ahem, dead plants that had been welcoming my guests all winter.  the are growing like crazy right now!  i love how the bright pink pops.

we just added this coffee table to the seating area this weekend.  it was a happy find at ruby rose last week!

i have a small collection of galvanized watering cans, and leaned an old sign from san clemente (our old home town), the letter c from my s.i.l., and an old lantern from my grandfather’s house.

my mom just introduced me to succulents and i am loving their variations of color.  that and the low maintenance!

we found this vintage crib years ago at out local flea, and it has migrated in and out of our house, but fits perfectly here on our porch.

don’t mind the black beans on the carpet – i had just swept them off the table, and that was good enough for me!

I adore that table with the chunky legs! The day bed looks so relaxing.

Love, love, LOVE the lanterns above the table. If only we didn’t live in the windy SoCal desert. Gorgeous outdoor decor like that would never make it here, sadly. Thanks for sharing your outdoor porch oasis. ;)

Lindsey I LOVE this. This is the perfect porch inspiration post…I’ve wanted to do something like the hanging lanterns thing for ages. You put it all together perfectly.

I may be spending the next few weeks completely redoing our front porch :D

Oh my gosh I just want to come sit and relax on your porch. Its perfect! I have a question about the crib(since its my favorite piece out there): Is it strong enough for people to actually sit on? Im thinking it must be but I was curious anyways.

Lindsey, I absolutely adore your house! I have grand dreams of having a place like yours one day. Someday when we are out of the military and we can find a place of our OWN! Thank you for the inspiration!

  32. 32

P.S. Did you make those lanterns? I would love to know more about them!

  33. 33

I happened upon the display of succulents aat home depot when I was last there. They are gorgeous, but I am a little gun-shy. I imagine them to be low maintance, but really have no clue where to even start with them. Like, can I have one on my desk? Are they THAT low maintainence?

  34. 34

    It looks fantastic– love!!

  35. 35

Oh this is exactly what I need. My husband and I are in the midst of sprucing up our front yard but sadly, no porch. Even in the backyard is still in the works..

Love the little details, especially your grandfather’s lantern.. the place looks perfectly cozy!

  36. 36

I love your porch! Your entire home is amazing! Was your town featured on Oprah a few weeks ago as the happiest city in the US? I keep meaning to ask you that!

  43. 43

The hanging glass lanterns over the table are brilliant! Love them!! Your porch looks so comfy and inviting–all that’s missing is the glass of ice tea. Ha!

  44. 44
