i think 2011 is the year of no seasonal decorating for me! totally unintentional, but true.
knowing that easter was coming soon, i felt like a teeny bit of decor was needed, so i shoved some of the cherry blossom branches i had made for this shower into the urns i already had sitting on my mantel.
i think i originally bought the branches at michael’s.
if i was a good blogger i would’ve taken step by step pics of this. or maybe i did and it was just so long ago i don’t remember!
either way it is super easy and probably doesn’t even need pics for you to get the idea.
i used light pink tissue paper, folded in layers, and free hand cut out a circle. then i separated the layers of tissue circles, took one at a time and just pinched the center of each circle. then i did a little twist to secure it (you can see it really close in the pic above). i added a dab of hot glue to various joints in the branches and stuck the paper cherry blossom to it. easy peasy. i think white would be really pretty, too.
my urns already had what i needed inside: floral foam covered in reindeer moss.
i’d love to have a blossom bearing tree that i could snag a branch or 2 off each year, but our fruit trees are too young for that, so for now these fake ones will have to do!

I like the clean and simple look of it. No clutter!
It’s beautiful and yet so simple. How awesome!
Lovely and simple ~ sometimes that’s the best way to go anyway. :)
simple and beautiful. Our maple tree has “puffs” of apple green right now. If my allergies weren’t going crazy I’d bring some inside.
Oh wow, so simple! Love that idea – thank you for sharing with us!
I love this idea ~ it looks simple and sweet, but makes a big statement! My mantle needs an overhaul, but my problem is that we have a dark Orangy/Brick colored wall that is the backdrop for the mantle so it is hard to come up with Spring/Summer theme, however Fall and Winter is a breeze to decorate!

bada-bing, bada-boom! that is brilliant!
note to self: add tissue paper to the grocery list….don’t forget moss, it gives the finished look.
Looks magnificent!
your home is a beautiful place.
