what i wore wednesday

whatup, yo?

k, i guess i’m in one of those moods.  look out ;)

i’m giddy off a homeschooling high like none other.  sounds weird, i know, but today we had tremendous success with a new system (i’ll tell you about super soon!), and we never have days that feel successful.  i’ve been wanting to talk openly about our homeschool experiences, but i didn’t want to be a debbie downer, so i have kind of avoided it.  hopefully this new deal has reignited our fire and i can share all about it soon!  that is if that fire doesn’t cause things to crash and burn by friday.  kidding.  kinda.

oh, yeah.  it’s wednesday.  time for what i what i what what.  seriously, that’s what i always call it in my head.   it’s much cooler that way.  at least in my head it is.  now, now i’m not so sure.  so what is what i wore wednesday, you ask?  its me, and many of you, taking pics of ourselves as much as we can manage in a week, and documenting it on our blogs.  now this didn’t start out with a fashion purpose, but for accountability.  you see, before i started wiww, all of my days were like today.  i woke up, stayed in my jammies, threw on a cozy sweater and some uggs, did the morning routine with the kids and started homeschool.  by 4 o’clock, we were done with school and moved on to other things, but all of us still in our jammies!  i did have us all shower and change, but only because we had awana tonight so we’d be seen in public.  but month after month of this was putting me in a rut.  i never wanted to get dressed and when i did it would take me forever to find something i felt good in.  so i decided to make an effort and make some simple rules for myself (not hats or sweats at school drop off – 2 days a week).  i used my blog as an accountability platform and it has made a huge difference in how i feel about myself.  i have found what i like to wear, what’s easy to throw together, how to accessorize simple outfits, and that many of you are like me, too!

so on with the show!  or at least here’s a few outfits from this week…

haha. your product pic is too funny. I like the ‘lookp a matching checkbook cover’ smile. Did you get that super cutie ruffled cardi recently at Target? It looks perfect for these Spring/Summer So Cal desert nights!

  2. 2

I so love your style!! Just had to let you know, because of your pics last week I bought the same Target boots and LOVE them. Thank you for the inspiration. PS..your ipad cover works great for my Kindle and I take my covered notebook everywhere with me. Hope you have a great week!

  3. 3

you looks fabulous! You should dress up 7 days a week :-) PJs are comfortable though, I was in them most of the time too until I started this blog. Just today my little one asked me why do I have to dress so nicely now. ha..Thanks for hosting. I like your work too, following you.

Cute as ever, I can’t wait to hear about your home-school experience. I also home school and know how difficult it can be. So glad you are having the motivation to get dressed, because you always look adorable. Have a Great Day:)

  8. 8

Love the dress over jeans thing you’re doing… I have to try that! :)

  9. 9

I have been linking up for a couple months now – and have had the best response from my friends and blog readers. They LOVE ‘what I wore what what.’ I think it is because it allows them to hear my voice, and connect with me in a real world kind of way. So thank you!

The other benefit is that seeing pics of myself each week – has helped me see what looks good on me, and also given me a boost in my weight loss journey!

Thanks for the inspiration Lindsey! I can’t wait to hear about your Homeschooling breakthrough. I could use one of those too!

  10. 10

    You’re cool. :)
I’m sure your kids are benefitting greatly from having you as their teacher.
What I Wore Wednesday would be a great accountability for me!! I need to go shopping first. :)

  11. 11

I want to hear more about how it changed how you felt about yourself!

  12. 12

You are so cute as always! I have to miss WIWW this week because today is my anniversary so I was kind enough to dedicate my blog to my hubby. LOL

Got my new **sexy** wristlet yesterday! LOVE IT!

    Have a great day!

LOVE your outfits!! Especially your first photo! Love the product showcase too :)

  14. 14

The striped cardi is so cute, and I just LOVE your 3rd outfit!! I didn’t see that sweater at my Target :(

  15. 15

I do love your style. The 3rd outfit is fantastic!! You are so cute. I’ve enjoyed this too as it is helping me dress a little better and I too homeschool so some days we just don’t get dressed. It helps me to not wear my sweats all the time! Thanks for the inspiration.

  16. 16

Ah yes- I think Stacey’s response hit it on the head. Thank you! And you look darling, as always!! I just adore your style!

  17. 17

Just nothing ever real interesting but your party is helping me to lighten up my wardrobe a bit so here’s the first refashion I did!

  25. 25

OMG! I could have totally featured your last 2 looks on my Fashionista Friday post last Friday. Seriously.

    Looking F-A-B!

  26. 26

love these outfits, Lindsey. you look great. this link up is so much fun. thanks for hosting it.

  27. 27

I LOVE how you layer skinnies and cute dresses…I’m almost five months preggo and this is definitely a good idea to get some wear out of those summer dresses that would otherwise be WAY to short with a baby bump underneath. I’m definitely going to have to dig out some of my summer dresses that I thought would be useless this summer and layer them up with my skinnies :)

  28. 28

Eager to hear about the homeschooling program!!

  29. 29

    You are too cute, Lindsey!

  30. 30

you’re adorable!! i love these posts!!
you should make your button w/ a link, that way it can be shared in our blogs on the posts that we link up here. :)

  31. 31

I love the coral ruffled cardigan! It’s a great color for you! Are you growing your hair out? It’s starting to get long! :)

  32. 32

It’s nice to see you out from behind your camera! Thanks for the fashion inspiration!

  33. 33

  35. 35

Thanks SO much for hosting this! I’m having more and more fun every week! LOVE your pink sweater/gray dress combo, SO SO pretty! Good luck with the new homeschooling system!! I hope it keeps going well!

  36. 36

What can I say but cute, cute, with a side of cute! I don’t always participate in WIWW, but I swear I almost always think of you when I’m deciding what to wear each morning (put down the Tshirt and yoga pants!). :)

  37. 37

I have the same Marshalls ruffled flats – they’re so comfy!! Love all of your outfits!!

  38. 38

I am SO looking forward to hearing more about your homeschooling success. This is my first year of homeschooling and, while I haven’t lost my desire to do it, a little bit of excitement and passion disappears with every day that I feel like things just aren’t “working”. The bloggy world is full of homeschooling mommas who have nothing but good days…I’m anxious to hear what a momma like me {still kinda struggling with making it work} found that made her so giddy. :)

  39. 39

Please, please, please talk about homeschooling! I would love to see/read/know how you do it.
