what i wore wednesday

hello friends!

i have been a good girl this week and took lots of pics.  actually, sean took most of them for me, hence the goofy look on my face in most pics!

i was asked last week how wiww has changed me.  i think it has really changed me to be more motivated and less lazy.  i feel like i look better than i did in my sweats and i like the feeling of looking good for my husband.  and the compliments from him definitely help!

now this was one of those days that i didn’t exactly draw compliments from sean, but it was a long week and i was comfy!  i added the little ruffle to this sweatshirt, but i am not crazy about it.  sean said it looked kinda like i was just wearing one of my scarves!

sweatshirt  & jeans – target

we went to a wedding on saturday – so super fun!

sweater – target

shirt – forever 21

linen pants – gap

wedges – old navy

i cannot tell you how many times i have done this – matched my girls!

when they were littler and i used to choose their outfits, i would so often dress us all the same accidentally.  so embarrassing in public – its really not that cute to match your girls!  but i didn’t realize it this time until we were literally about to walk out the door, and changing was not an option!

i snagged this necklace from crystal b at the queen bee market. at the last market, jeannett and i kept going back to her booth and pouring over her creations – it was so hard to choose our favorites.  but this time, my decision was easy – how perfect is this necklace?!

sunday for church

sweater, leggings, and flats – target

skirt and tank – forever 21

wristlet clutch – the pleated poppy

i love the versatility of my petal pushers!  i took this necklace from forever 21 (~$1.50!) and just pinned a cream petal pusher on – doesn’t get any easier than that!

and the hair.  ugh.  i am thinking about growing it out and also being lazy/cheap and not cutting it.  but you see that kink its doing in the back?  e.ver.y time!  i am seriously considering hacking at it myself, if cutting the back weren’t so awkward.  but if i cut it then i can’t pull it up anymore…  oh the dilemmas of life! ;)

shirt – made by me with the amelia pattern

sweater – old navy

jeans and flats – target

scarf – forever 21

shirt – made by me

sweater – old navy

jeans and boots – target

headband – just.lovely.things (i love love love this headband, and its super affordable!)

necklace – gift from the nester

wristlet clutch – one-of-a kind from the pleated poppy (neener neener)

looky looky!  i now have a fun little button for you to grab when you link up!

  2. 2

Ooh, love the yellow outfit! Love those flats, your handmade shirt and the scarf– such a pretty color combo.

I’ve been looking for white linen pants foreevvvvver. Did you get those recently at the gap?

    Happy Wednesday, Linds!

  3. 3

You look super cute! I’ve seen ruffles added to hoodies before in much the same way you did but with the running stitch down the center of the fabric and the not as many ruffles (farther apart) and it was adorable! Keep playing around, I think you’ll find a variation that is awesome!

ok, so you had a long post, so I’m going to leave a long comment. the hoodie- cracks me up. I’m not a fan of the ruffle on that one, Lindsey. Sorry sister. the wedding, however- gorgeous. Just perfect and lovely. Love the sitting photo, LOVE that your girls match (and that you match them) I plan to keep matching mine until they beg me to stop. ha! The Crystal B necklace is beautiful and PERFECT with that outfit. Oh, and the church outfit. LOVE. I am laughing a little that we collaged our pictures similar this week and went leggings. Hmmm- channeling my inner Pleated Poppy. tee hee So jealous of the $1.50 pearls and now I’m for sure adding a petal pusher to my next order! I’m grabbing the new button to update my post! happy wednesday!

You are too cute! I honestly love your style & hope I can really start to learn from you! I need to win the lotto in order to haul over my closet & wardrobe though! Your girls are precious & I totally love that you & they match for the wedding! And again, all of your accessories (especially that new necklace!) are to die for! Thanks for hosting :)

I just have to tell you that I’ve been inspired by these posts and link-ups! I actually wrote about my delimma of country living and losing touch with my feminine side, today, and thought of these posts. I think I may join some time to become more accountable to my self! I guess that’s the point, eh?

    Take care, Cassie

I absolutely love what you were wearing on Saturday and Sunday- floaty, girly things really suit you! :) That pink top = mmmm, and I actually love how you match your girlies (I also <3 their outfits!) And I love the skirt you wore on the Sun- I suppose they might look toooo floaty and girly together though!
That necklace, yeah. It is gorgeous. Makes me want to whip out my supplies and make one similar.
I also love how you matched all the yellowandpinkness to other yellowandpinkness!

Love the new button! And the wedding outfits are gorgeous. I thought they matched on purpose until I saw what you wrote, lol. That happens to me too sometimes, I guess you’re in a certain mood and the same colors appeal to you from both closets! :-)

I so totally love your outfits. I have a broken pearl necklace that I DID NOT want to toss, so I use ribbons and pins to hold it together.

The blouses you made are very cute. I really want to learn to sew.

    Your girls are adorable.

  10. 10

Oh my! I adore every outfit. Too cute matching with your girls. The handmades by you, simply genius!

  16. 16

This is my favorite week ever. Everything looks so nice together and I love the brighter colors on you:)

  17. 17

I love your new necklace – gorgeous!

And I like that you and your daughters ‘go’ and it’s not too matchy-matchy. I think it’s adorable.

    Have a great week!

  20. 20

    You are gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!!!

  21. 21

So I thought it was adorable that you matched your girls (intentionally or not). I remember loving one Sunday where my mom let me pick her outfit for church and I matched it to mine, so cool for a kid, maybe not for an adult ;) Love love your Amelia outfit, I have those Target flats and I wear the heck out of ’em, who knew that yellow was a neutral? ;)

  22. 22

Cute cute cute! I LOVE the top you made and the white tee you embellished! I also have the ‘Be kind to others’ print hanging up in my kitchen. It’s a pretty little reminder :)

  23. 23

absolutely gorgeous! I’m wearing a JustLovelyThings hb too that I scored at Queen Bee :) This is my favorite of WIWW ever!! LOVED your outfits!!

  24. 24

What a cute picture of you on the couch! And I love the one of you with the girls. Very sweet indeed. Curious question: do they like matching? My girls love to match or at least coordinate and theyre 5 & 7. I know those days are limited though:)
    xo,
    Sarah

  25. 25

I love the pale pinks this week. I need both the top from the wedding outfit and the skirt from your church outfit.

  26. 26

You really rocked it this week. Couldn’t even pick a favorite. You’re my idol.

  27. 27

You look adorable, and I think I like the ruffle hoodie?

  28. 28

I work outside the home and, I must admit, you look far cuter than I do on a regular basis. But, you have instilled in me a love of Target that I did not have before. I have shopped there so much and have been amazed at the cute outfits I can put together from the ideas you have given me.

So, I know I’m probably not the target (pun intended) audience for these posts, but I check them every week. :)

  29. 29

I love love love the outfits!!! Love the pink & white. The mustard flats. The church outfit. The shirt you made. That necklace from the Queen Bee Market. All of it!!!!
Before you commented about the kink in your hair, I was thinking that your hair was looking so cute and I wish mine had some wave and volume like that!!! Embrace the kink! It looks cute!

  30. 30

LOL I have unknowingly picked out matching clothes for my daughter and I many…many times! I used to think it was weird, but then I realized that I normally dress according to my mood, so naturally I picked hers out with the same thing in mind!! I think you all looked great!

  31. 31

I love the cute pink and black outfit, super cute! I wish we had a Forever 21

  32. 32

OMG, with the cuteness, girl! i love all those outfits to death.

  33. 33

I love your style. Fun and feminine without feeling forced. And I love when mommies and daughters coordinate. You and your girls look wonderful.

  34. 34

I have those Gap linen pants and LOVE them – the fit is so amazing! You look awesome in all of these outfits. I was going to join today, have my post ready but then came and saw you in all your cuteness and I can’t do it.

  35. 35

I love your outfits and the quality of your pictures! The one with you and your girls, all matching, was adorable!!! I think it’s my favorite.

You may have inspired me with your skirt-and-leggings combination! I have a dress I wasn’t sure about that might look better with leggings.

  36. 36

Everything is so cute, but I love that ruffled zip up!

  37. 37

I think it’s sweet that you matched your girls – I LOVE that!! The necklace from Queen B is FAB!

  38. 38

I really need to be better at taking pictures of WIW…. but, I don’t have cute clothes and my closet is just not a good place to “shop”! Sigh, maybe one day I’ll look cute like all of you girls!

P.S. I LOVE that lace skirt!!

  39. 39

Your outfits are very nice. Your girls are so pretty and sweet especially in pink. I love those yellow shoes from Target. We don’t have Target in Canada, so I am yearning for a chance to go South and shop. I want those shoes so badly! I don’t join in on your linky party, but I do enjoy it very much.
    Hugs, Cindy

OMG – I love the matchy matchy with your daughters! I have 2 young girls and love your look SO much, so I have to be creepy and ask, did you get that shirt recently at F21? Yep, going to be super stalkery and try to copy you for my cousins wedding. Thanks for any info – you are just adorable (so are those girlies!)

  45. 45

    Great outfits! I love them!

  46. 46

    Love the hair…just saying! :)

  47. 47

I have been following for a while and I think your outfits are looking great this week!!
As for the hair kinking in the back, mine does that too.
Do you have a hair straightner to straighten out the back? Tricky while you are growing it out, but it looks really nice longer for a change, so stick with it!!

  48. 48

Ps I love your outdoor area with the colour of the paint, your old table and decorative touches. Love it!

  49. 49

i love your clutch! it is so cute

  50. 50

Just wanted to say, THANK YOU for inspiring me to get out of my sweat pants and husbands shirt. I would read your WIWW every week, and admired your awesome cuteness; and now, today, started to do it and link up with you! jandmseyecandy.blogspot.com

  55. 55

Oh lady, you have such style!

  56. 56

Ohhh, such cute stuff this week!! Especially loving the bright pops of yellow. Makes me miss my Target skinny jeans LOL. And I completely feel you with the hair ~ I’m in desperate need of a cut, but thinking I’ll need a pony tail more when baby arrives!

  57. 57

Seriously could you be any cuter? Probably not. I don’t think I could be friends with you any more…..love you! xoxo
