6- locally famous splash cafe

7- getting my toes in the sand

8- mmmm, caramel apples!

9- mmmmmm, seanie!

these 2 big girls, taking care of my little girls.

i used to babysit them when they were babies!  now they are 12 and 14 and are amazing young women!

so it’s official!  the girls finished school today, i shed a few tears, a few times.  i am so excited for our summer!  i am going to make a summer to do list with my kids (check camping off the list!), but i am also going to make a special list for myself – projects to do!  and i even finished a project tonight that has been waiting for me for a couple years (more on that soon!).

We’re going camping right now locally. Wish we had 12 yo kids coming with us to entertain. We laugh that vacation isn’t really a break, but it’s for the kids at this stage ;) worth it! (well not so sure about the showers)

  8. 8

Sounds like fun, my hubs and I have been considering taking our girls out to camp on Shackelford Banks, NC. It’s fairly close (we live by the coast)… I’m inspired to do it now. :-)

  9. 9

We have a couple local camping trips planed for this summer. My hubby has free camping at a camping area near the beach through his job. This makes it effordable for my sister to take her kids out for a few days and with my older kids, my sis and I can sit a chat.
Love the Candy Shop pics. you took ~ymmm!

  10. 10

is it the ottoman? did you finally finish? around here it seems like those “easy” jobs that take the longest! can’t wait to hear!

  11. 11

I loved camping when I was a kid! We love to go to the lake in summer, but we only go for the day, that is quite enough for me. I feel like we bring the entire house with us when we go, I can’t imagine how I would deal for week:/

  12. 12

Ooh fun! We had a campout in the backyard this weekend! The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever! I love the name of that cafe…so happy sounding!

  13. 13

I love your picture nine-patch block. Was it easy to create?

  14. 14

I live in the Ventura area, and we love going to Pismo for weekend trips. Splash Cafe is the best! I love just walking around and looking in at all the shops. We usually stay at hotels but I’m going to look into camping, that sounds amazing.

  15. 15

My girls and I have started a summer list, just haven’t transferred it to our poster yet. I will have to do a summer list for myself too. Great idea! I want some of the camping pancakes!! YUM!!!!!

  16. 16

    Those suckers look awesome!!!!

  17. 17

Your kids are the cutest things ever. If they were mine, I’d have to chew on their cheeks every day. :)

Hope you are having a good summer. Will I see you at QB in August??

  18. 18

    Wow, those pictures are amazing!
It looks like you guys had alot of fun.. I’ve never been to Pismo but heard it is
    beautiful! :)

  19. 19

Wait, if you’re 15 minutes from Pismo that means you’re in SLO, Atascadero, or Paso… Cal Poly grad here! Go Mustangs! And I have family in Santa Margarita. Actually I was just down there Memorial Day weekend. If I could afford to, and had a job lined up, I’d TOTALLY move back to that area. LOVE IT! I guess I didn’t realize you were a) in CA, and b) near by. I’m in the Central Valley near Turlock/Modesto. :)
