life rearranged

i’m linking up with jeannett again for instafridays.  here’s my week in iphone pics via instagram!

i am not a huge fan of omelettes, they’re usually too soggy for me – yuck!  but these were sooo good because:

a) they were made with bacon, cheese, onions, and avocado – yum!

b) sean made them, not me.  love other people’s food better than my own, every time.

c) we were still camping, so any fancy food is even better when you’re camping.

same morning, for second breakfast, we walked down the beach to the yummiest cinnamon roll shop ever.

not an instagram pic, but in my week nonetheless.  the culmination of our school year was our annual history day.  we celebrated with a medieval feast.  gracie played the role of a baker in a kitchen scene.

while i was finishing up a quilt, lily picked up my scraps.  a little while later i walked into the living room to see this!  she took my scraps (on the left) and cut strips of felt and used scotch tape to attach them to a ribbon, then taped the banner to the wall.  girl after my own heart!  best part:  she didn’t even show it off, just let us all slowly find it.

i’m going to continue using this as my excuse for not running in the mornings for as long as i can.  silas crawls in our bed in the morning then falls back asleep.  those snuggles are so worth getting flabby for.  when he’s about to wake up, he starts playing with his eyelashes, like in this pic.

our whole family walked silas to his last day of school, then the 4 of us (me, sean, and the girls) all enjoyed a late breakfast at our favorite local coffee shop.

my sweet friend joy brought me her famous blondies while we were camping.  i’ve had them for lunch for the last few days.  no bikinis for me this year.

every time i wear these socks i smile.  mique gave them to all our blissdom roomies.

the moon was so amazing this night.  this is the view from our front porch, just past the hanging lanterns.

i am doing my best to not be a “no” mom this summer.  i so often say no to random requests before i even have a chance to think about it.  the girls asked for a pedicure – why not?  while silas was off at a playdate we had a little girl time!  hot pink for mama, bubblegum pink with sparkles for the girls.

we marked 3 things off our summer to-do list yesterday:  1) ride the trolley downtown, 2) go to the library, and 3) get ice cream (aka frozen yogurt).

the kids and i were having so much fun downtown together that we decided to hang out all afternoon.

in case you don’t know, the farmer’s market in san luis obispo are kinda famous.  they are year round and always packed.  there’s not only yummy produce to choose from, but also food vendors and entertainers.  this unicyclist had a hilarious act!  he finished with saying, “what’s the difference between me and a park bench?  a park bench can support a family!”  another great line: “no animals were harmed in the making of this chest hair”.

do you use instagram?  follow me – my handle is thepleatedpoppy.  i bet you’re wondering how i came up with that one ;)

Love these, Lindsey! These pics make me look forward to when my kids are a bit older, totally potty trained, and nap-free. I’m treasuring nap time right now- don’t get me wrong. :-) But I do look forward to being more spontaneous and doing more things with them that we can’t ponder quite yet.
