life rearranged

joining jeannett at life.rearranged again, linking up my week in review, thanks for iphone pics and instagram!

oh, the options!  i needed to stock up for my little canvas project.

our good friends were visiting last week.  this is ricky, my bff’s husband.  every once in awhile he thinks its hilarious to have a mustache.  nicole and i think its not quite as funny ;)  we spent the day at the beach, and he was goofing off, being super rico for the kids!

another item marked off our summer list – snow cones!  gracie with nicole’s oldest, tyler.  buddies since birth.

how awesome bad is this?  on father’s day, our husbands let us get out for a few hours while they took all 7 kids, ages almost 2 to 8.  nicole had never been to forever 21 before.  she was cursing me throughout the enormous store (you can’t see from one end to the other).  why don’t they have shopping carts?

and while we were off shopping, the kids were filmed by the local news station, talking about what they were doing on father’s day!  yes, that would be silas making faces on tv.

another on the summer list that will get checked many times:  s’mores by the backyard fireplace!

sean and lily enjoying his father’s day gift – a hammock!

see sean’s nasty arm?  from his right shoulder to his knee he is scraped  like nasty nasty yucky yuck.  he and a group of guys road biked from here to santa barbara last week (about 110 miles).  sounds fun right?  and to make it even more fun, sean’s chain came off and he wiped out.  a number of the guys recounted to me how he “bounced” across the road.  the road.  where cars drive.  oy vay!  thankfully, nothing is broken, but he has very little mobility still.

swim lessons began this week.  take that, summer list!

our sweet neighbors offered to take our kids for a few hours so we snuck out for a quick sushi date and a walk downtown.

do you see how beautiful this night was?  the sunset, the mission downtown.  i love our town.  love.

do you take pics on your phone?  link up with jeannett.  go!

  5. 5

Happy Friday! I love the picture of the girls with their snow cones. Those were on our summer list, too, and we marked it off last Saturday. My little boy has already asked if we can get more this weekend. :) And I’m so sad we don’t have a Forever 21 here. :(

What an awesome week-except the bouncing along the road part, yikes!

  7. 7

Happy Summer! Yum, snow cones. Man, I feel for your hubby. That looks so painful. Hope he heals quickly.

  8. 8

don’t ya just love instagram? it makes my terrible photography look really good. ;)

  10. 10

  11. 11

Love the one of your kids being interviewed…how fun is that?!

  12. 12

I am so inspired by your blog and even better you live in a great city! SLO is like home to my family. I grew up spending my summers in Avila at my great grandparents house. We were just up there on Memorial Day visiting my sister who goes to Cal Poly. My little girl loved running around the bear at the fountain outside the mission. Such a pretty place….and I think I might try painting soon. Thanks for the inspiration!

Omgoodness!! Peanut Butter cup S’mores?! How have I never had one of those?? Summer list item #1 for sure!

(I still need to make my list…oops! It’s been raining though. Definitely not summer weather, so I still have time, right?!)

  14. 14

Fun Pics! Love the s’mores and yes they do need carts at forever21.

  15. 15

Woohoo for summer lists! I still need to make mine. I’m so behind . . . as usual. And that arm just makes me hurt just looking at it.

  16. 16

sounds like ya’ll had FUN! :D

  17. 17

Ok, yowzers!! Your husbands arm looks a whole lot like my husbands body looked when the chain broke off his bike. When the chain broke it actually launched him over the handle bars and into the road as well… I’m so glad I didn’t see that happen, I think it would have scared me to pieces.

  18. 18

love this post! that picture of your friend is hilarious. i cant believe they dont have carts… or bags at least at forever 21. and your poor hubby! glad he’s okay!!

  19. 19

I loved your pictures.. the picture with your friend holding all that wonderful clothes made me especially happy! :)

  20. 20

Your poor hubby – ouch! That happened to my dad when I was younger, and I remember it well. He was a mountain biker and the same thing happened, but on the ridge near our house, and instead of that nastiness happening to his arm it happened all over his back – so gross!!

I could recognize that mission anywhere! I lived in slo for 8 years. You are lucky to call that home. Great project and inspiration….thanks.
