i just wanted to say a quick THANK YOU!!!!!! to all of you who link up with me every week! and also, a big HOORAY!!!! to those of you joining for the first time. it’s nerve racking isn’t it? something about exposing the real you, on camera, is super intimidating because as bloggers we can hide behind our words, and you know we certainly all hide behind our cameras! but thank you. thank you for joining me and encouraging me to get out of my jammies and sweats, to put a little effort into myself, to care about myself enough and to find value in a little self-maintenance.
and here’s a little extra motivation for those of you who are on the fence about whether to join or not: my readers are really good clickers. like really good. we love to support each other and look at everyone’s wiww post and leave sweet comments and encourage one another. and you know what good clickers equals in blogland? more traffic! this linky has connected women who may have never met otherwise and we are building our community to be bigger and stronger – so yay for all of us!

wanna hear a funny story about this shirt? well here it is anyway ;)… so my husband went to a men’s retreat. on the weekend of my 30th birthday. yeah, i was stoked. my bestie, nicole (who lives far far away) sent me money to go buy myself something. so i got a sitter and we went shopping together – me and my phone so we could “shop” together since, remember, she lives far far away. i picked out this cute top, then went home to wallow in woe-is-me. it was a looong weekend with the kids. i don’t think i ever got a shower in. but my dear friend lived around the corner and had also lost her husband that weekend to the men’s retreat, so she invited us over to her house for dinner. so i went. greasy hair and sweats and slept in t-shirt. before i left i was talking on the phone to nicole and she was strongly encouraging me to take a shower, take time for myself, throw on my cute new top and feel better on my birthday. but i didn’t. when i opened the door to my neighbor’s house… SURPRISE!!!!!!!! sean had come back early, conspired with my sweet neighbor, nicole had set up everything over secret emails (and even sent a box of party decorations!). even my parents and mother-in-law and sister-in-law came up for it! i was floored and so totally shocked. but i was also greasy. and every.single.time i wear this shirt i think of that day!
i was having a little too much fun playing with the 7,000 balloons we blew up for gracie’s party!
