what i wore {wyoming edition}

hey friends!

this week’s wiww is coming to you a little further from the central coast of california than usual – from wyoming!

we got all fancy and house swapped with some folks and have been enjoying a week away with my husband’s family in a tiny town in wyoming.

if you’re new to what i wore wednesday, its something i started long ago to use as an accountability tool to help me get out of my sweats and put a little effort into myself.

since our drive out to wyoming is crazy long, we stopped in las vegas the first night.  we spent the first part of the day at the pool – so. much. fun.  can you tell what hotel we stayed at?

dress – old navy

cardi & sandals – target

belt – trip to bali pre-kids

sunnies – forever 21

wristlet clutch – the pleated poppy

walking around with the kids/general hanging out

shirt – local shop

cut off shorts

rainbow sandals

headband – allora handmade

tank – old navy

jeans – local shop

sandals – walmart

necklace – lisa leonard designs

wrap sweater – evy’s tree

clutch – the pleated poppy

in reality, many of our days were spent hanging out and i wore this wrap almost every. single. day.  it is so so comfy.   it also came with a super cute kilt pin (that i couldn’t find – argh!) to pin up one shoulder of the wrap to hold it closed.  this coral fabric is beautiful – my daughter said it looked like poppy seed cake because it has little dark flecks in it.

one day all the girls headed out to jackson hole for the afternoon.  the weather was incredible, but seeing the slopes in the background made me want to come back to visit when there was snow on the ground.

both tops – forever 21

shorts & sandals – target

necklace – lisa leonard designs

clutch – the pleated poppy (i can’t tell you how convenient this size bag is!)

of course teh 4th of july had to be the only gloomy day!  we ended getting a bit of rain as well which put a damper on some of our plans (pun intended).  we started off the day by going fishing with our whole group (more pics coming of me in waders!).

shirt – forever 21

sweatshirt – target, embellished by me

rainbow sandals

necklace – lisa leonard designs

posy hair clip – the pleated poppy

and here’s me in my fancy waders when we went fishing!

this pic of sean and i was at the grand tetons, then we went into yellowstone for the day.

it was way warmer than forecasted so i ended up in a tank and rolled up my jeans just a bit later.

long sleeve shirt – forever 21

yellow tank – target

jeans – local shop

necklace – lisa leonard designs

Beautiful wrap. That color is so pretty. Next year we are planning a big road trip to Wyoming, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and anything else we can see before we head home. I’m impressed by your chic style. I was planning to head to REI and get all outdoor gear, but you’ve inspired me to keep it simple and wear what you have. You look great! Seeing those mountains in the background makes me wish we were there right now!

You stayed at the Flamingo, right? My parents just got back from Las Vegas last weekend. I love it there! I want to know how you were wearing a cardigan outside in 110 degrees!!!! I’m always practically naked when I go there (ok not really, shorts & tank top) and then freeze to death inside all the casinos! Wyoming looks beautiful! I’ve never been there but I would love to go. Thanks for sharing :).

  30. 30

Looks like you had a fantastic week!! Great outfits, too. I am particularly in love with that coral wrap (my favorite color).

I have never tried house-swapping but have kinda wanted to ever since I saw The Holiday! And after seeing your house tour, I can well understand why a family would want to come stay there.

Your house is awe-inspiringly gorgeous!! I loved the tour!

  35. 35

    Love those waders–very chic!

  36. 36

LOVE your coral wrap sweater, so colorful and cozy–I’d want to wear it all the time (but then I’d melt here in TX, WY & CA have perfect weather for it).

You look darling in your waders!

  37. 37

This was my first time to link up to WIWW! I’ve been reading for a while, so I just decided to link up today! You always dress SO cute, thanks for sharing!
