life rearranged

linking up again with jeannett from life rearranged!

thank you jeannett for reminding me to do posts on our every day lives!

a shot of my fun necklace – a little fancy, a little edgy.

on saturday we walked downtown to the i madonarri festival – celebrating italian street painting.  it was so fun!

the works people do are amazing!  and this is on bumpy asphalt, not nice smooth concrete.

we had lunch at our favorite coffee shop and just took our time all day.  its been so long since we’ve had a day to do nothing.  and it will be so long until we do it again since soccer games start this weekend.

a working night.  i love working in my bed.  so often i have to be in the playroom where all my supplies are, or cutting at my table, but when i get to do all handwork, like on these bloom belts, i just kick back in bed and put on a movie.  or two.

*side note – this pic was taken the last night i slept in my room – about 4 days ago!  we had a RAT (!!!) in there (dead and gone now) and i am very slowly cleaning it now.  and getting grossed out the whole time!*

and since i stayed up so late saturday night, on sunday morning i neeeeded some coffee.  my pretty new bible, a cup of cream and sugar with a drop of coffee, and my trusty clutch.  i was supposed to help in lily’s class but they didn’t need me, and sean was helping in silas’, so i had an hour to myself, which was really quite nice.

sean got an ipad so we were playing with it with my sister-in-law, who is always good for a laugh!

i spotted this globe and these books (vintage – on insects and a high school dictionary) at my favorite thrift store last week in their window display.  they change out their displays on mondays, so i hurried in to snatch these up first thing!

i got a happy little package from deco art!  now i just need to find some time to do something with it!

while gracie was at soccer practice and lily was teaching herself how to pump on the swings, silas was cruising on his bike.  he always tries tricks – one hand, no legs, standing up on the peddles, dropping off curbs (or “curves”).  but he has been doing this side saddle thing lately.

and then he decided to try standing up!  he did it so well i wasn’t even worried a bit!  he even  stood up with both feet on the seat!  but my favorite of all his tricks is when he rides around with a thumbs up high in the air.  he feels really cool and wants a thumbs up back – its so cute!

so, what did you do this week?  and did you take pictures?  you should link up, too!

  1. 1

Dang, your little guy is brave! Looks like a great week.

    Silas ROCKS!
Henry’s pretty stable on two wheels now and is “jumping” off curbs…well, sorta. :)
I did however score a Specialized bike for $25 on Craigslist!!! Woohoo!

  3. 3

It looks like you had one wonderful week! I really really realllllly love your new necklace – looks like you could wear that with a variety of outfits. And the pics of Silas are SO fun!! My 3 year old likes to try little tricks like that but he’s still using training wheels. Hopefully he’ll be steady like Silas when he’s older & does his “twicks.”
My week was quite crazy…I insta-friday-ed it too :) Lots of messes! Your coffee looks pretty good to me right now!
Hope your weekend is as awesome as your week was!!!

Your casual/brave attitude about the rat is impressive. I think my blog post on the subject would have just been one long stream of exclamation marks. :-)

  9. 9

i love your insta fridays, i would do it too if i had a phone that took those kind of pics (or a blog)! i think i identified most with the cup of cream and sugar with a drop of coffee :) it’s better that way. thanks for sharing a bit of your everyday. have a good weekend!

How do so many bloggers get free stuff from Deco Art? What’s the secret? I’m always reading about Deco Art fairies leaving boxes of goodies at bloggers’ doorsteps.

  13. 13

I thought I was the only one who liked to work in bed! It’s my favorite place :)

My oldest daughter has three kids, two girls and a boy in the middle and looks as though he is about your sons age. Morgen is the same way on his bike. I love how boys are so different than girls. My granddaughter rides like it’s a Sunday afternoon drive and Morgen is peeling out and only God knows what else??? Gotta love those precious little boys! I’m glad you have had some free time and enjoying yourself before it gets crazy busy again. I hate it that you had a rodent (rat) in your house….Eeeeeeew, they give me the creeps! We live in the country and I saw a mouse in the living room a couple of years ago and I freaked! Glad it is GONE from your bedroom ;) Have a great weekend and sorry I was so chatty!

  19. 19

Your hair is LONG!!!! Well, getting longer..I love it! :)

Your pictures are always so sweet. I love a glimpse into your world. I feel like I know you so well cuz we get dressed together each morning (haha…that sounds creepy…but I just mean cuz I try to plan my wardrobe around my Pleated Poppy products)…anyway…thanks for sharing with us!

    Happy Weekend!
