monday update

i’m writing this update late sunday night (11:54pm, to be exact).

last week was filled with so much fun – sister time, costumes, baby snuggling, party prep & party.

but monday i think will be filled with a lump in my throat, squinching back tears.  my sister and baby boy leave tomorrow morning.

sadness.

knowing that most likely i won’t see them for another year.  when he’ll be talking and walking.

sucky.

so to take me out of the sad, here are a few highlights of what i hope to hit on more of this week! (ok, that was a fake exclamation mark.  sorry.)

we have already had 2 opportunities to wear our costumes this week, and one more tonight!

we threw a costume party for lily this weekend and the food prep was so much fun!  lily and i poured over pinterest finding fun ideas, including this cake.

2 new reversible scarves are in the shop!

all reversible pillow covers are 20% off!  just type in code PILLOWS for the discount!

and there are a couple bloom belts in the shop also!

and for your viewing pleasure, i leave you with this…

I live in a different country from my brother and his family as well so I know how hard it is … it stinks to miss those special times and just watch the kiddos growing up. One word: Skype. It’s awesome.

So sorry that you are going to have a somewhat rough week. I can’t imagine living that far away from family. I know it’s going to be tough on you. My prayers are with you.

Saying good-bye to loved ones is what I like to call “el stinko.” I’m sorry that you have to do that, but I’m happy that you had a chance to love on that adorable turtle. I love your girls’ costumes. Do you think that a “fluffy” 40-year-old could get away with wearing a poodle skirt on a daily basis? Cause I would. If I could. : )

    Take care,
    Tricia

So sorry that your sister is leaving today. I know how you feel. I have 4 sisters and they all live on the other side of the country. I miss them so much and it is always so painful when we have to say goodbye.

My 3 girlies used to have poodle skirts just like that! They would always get to wear them at 50″s day when they were in elementary school. I love your blog by the way!!!!!!!! xo Ashlyn

I’m sorry your sister had to leave…that sucks, but I’m glad you had a good time with her, the little turtle and your mom too ;) The poodle skirts are adorable. My granddaughter has one that my daughter found on ebay about 3 yrs ago and she is still wearing it on 50′s day at school. Have a good time this evening with your precious kiddos! Happy Halloween ;-D

That baby is delicious, as is that cake! I co-miserate with you on the feeling of only seeing your sister once a year. I love spending time with her and it is so hard when we have to leave. But then I thank God for technology! Skype has been our best friend <3
