the queen bee market recap

friday morning i woke up at 3 a.m. and was on the road to l.a. by 4.  i wanted to stop at the garment district for an hour or so to pick up some more scarf fabric before heading down to the queen bee in san diego.

leaving that early saved me from hitting any traffic (other than a tiny bit in l.a.).  my time in the garment district was successful and i was back on the road by 10 (all the shops didn’t open until 8:30-9).

i made it to the market just in time for set-up at noon and worked my tail off for the next 3+ hours setting up my booth.  then the next few hours were spent walking around the market and the evening was capped off with an amazing concert with mindy gledhill.  her music was the perfect mix of joyful, folksy happy music with mellow sing-songy lyrics – a great end to our night!

then me and my roomies (jess and mique) stayed up jabbering until about midnight then crashed hard.

the next morning was back to the market and restocking my booth and then my friend joy came for a visit to the market (and brought my camera from home that i forgot!).   i worked the checkout table for a few hours then had just a little time to look around before the market ended and the nuttiness of breaking down our booths started.

my evening ended with a fun dinner with stacy and emily then a sleepy 1 hour drive to my in-laws’.

like i said, i forgot my camera the first day, so i didn’t have time for pics of every booth, but here are some of my favorites!

here’s my booth!  the only non-iphone pic of my booth – oops!

i am madly in love with the colors of this blanket and the giant yarn flower brooch by inspire lovely.

i just wanted to wrap up the whole hutch and take it home with me!

the flower headbands from lilly bug lane were adorable

i loved her booth set-up!

april‘s booth is always envy worthy and this time her husband had a space as well, which was awesome!

everything from creme de la gems is always ridiculously adorable.

i had a really hard time resisting these braided leather cuffs from done leather and domestic nest – a sweet husband and wife team.

i don’t know who this is from – sorry!  but i do think it’s lovely!

tamera beardsley‘s first show and she blows us all out of the water with a spectacular booth!

how pretty are her charms?

everything from  smitten furnishings is delightful!

emily from blue corduroy turns everything she touches in to vintage happiness!

jess’s booth is amazing as always!

if santa wants to get me something pretty and sparkly, i’d love a pair of these earrings from noon.

misfit menagerie was amazing once again!  i almost brought home this guy, but got  reindeer instead – crazy cute!

joyful joyful’s lovely booth!

i’m pretty sure this adorable ring is from acute designs – so fun!

2 very pretty necklaces from studio 16 designs.

Lindsey, thank you so much for featuring a picture of my booth in your lovely re-cap! One of my favorite aspects of the show was getting to see you…and…bringing home two of your charming Christmas tea towels….one for me and one for my daughter who comes home tonight for Thanksgiving…I am so excited to give her this gift!
