what i wore wednesday

happy wednesday!

so i am struggling to figure out how to dress in this chilly weather, are you?  i so badly want to just throw on jeans and a sweatshirt and be super cozy.  so this week, thats pretty much what i did!  i found a super cute sweatshirt at target that has sequins on the front so its comfy but has a little style.  my usual uniform of a top or dress over jeans with a cardigan isn’t keeping me warm enough, so i need to figure out a new solution – any suggestions?  i’d love to find a great sweater but i’m feeling pretty picky.

so here’s the sweatshirt from target with my oldest, coziest, about-to shred-apart jeans, with grey converse and my heather grey infinity scarf.  i so wish you could see the pretty sparkles on the top!

and when i get something new i tend to wear it a lot.  maybe too much ;)  i wore the sweatshirt again with dark jeans and sanuks.

this is what i wore to church

dress, cardi, tights, and belt – target

boots – steve madden

(because it was chilly i also added a long sleeve shirt under the dress)

i loved this outfit – easy and comfortable, but i think it would look a bit better with a lighter belt.

I live in a chilly climate and the trick I’ve found to staying warm is wearing lots of light layers. I wear a cami under everything. Then a long sleeve tee. Then a sweater. And if I’m still cold, a cute cardi on top. I always wear a colorful scarf. (Have you seen that awesome video clip on tying a scarf 25 ways? Cute!) It is a lot of layers, but if they are thin enough it does not look bulky.

Oh, and SmartWool socks are so awesomely warm. Get a pair! Your feet will “ooo” and “aah” every time you put them on.

you would look cute in anything but you look esp cute in that sweatshirt!

Lindsey – I’m so jealous of your effortlessly chic style! I would have never thought to pair gray tights with tan boots, but it totally works! Your outfits inspire me to be more adventurous with my fashion choices. Thanks for hosting WIWW each week. I just love looking through all the links and seeing what everyone else is wearing.

Lindsey, I am the SAME WAY! When I get something new, I want to wear it all the time. I guess it’s like a new toy :).

Love your outfits this week! My favorite is the first one. Looks SO comfy and yet stylish, like you said. That is my whole wardrobe plan, in a nutshell.

I think layering is the key, like you’ve been doing, but as it gets colder, you need warmer and thicker layers. Then, if it does warm up a smidge, you can always remove one.

You look so comfy and cute! I love that blue sweater… so pretty on you! :)

    RubberChickenGirl says:

I highly recommend silk long johns (sometimes SierraTradingPost has them cheaper). They are light weight so they don’t add bulk AND they are silky ;O) AND extremely warm. I live in them in the winter.

I have that same sweater! I like how the neck line is big enough to wear it off the shoulder too if you want to get fannshy with it.

And, I have the same shoes.

Basically, we’re style sisters. Roll with it.
