we have arrived!

i think my blogging time may be a bit more short and sweet than i had originally intended – my chance to use the internet will be some evenings, and so far, i’m pretty tired come evening time!

today feels like it was really our first full day here, although we have been gone for a couple days.  our first flight from l.a. to dubai was about 16 1/2 hours long, then a short layover until our next 5+ hour flight to delhi, india.  we taxi’d to our hotel and passed all sorts of amazing crazy confusing sights (so many contrasts!) and fell asleep in our rooms to the sounds of horns honking and fireworks.  today, we woke up, shared a meal with our group, had a group discussion on a book we’re all reading together (real life discipleship by jim putman) then had enough time for a short walk along the streets outside our hotel.

due to some safety concerns, i’ll be keeping the rest of my posts for when i get home.  just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and let you know we are safe!

I work at the church with Jim Putman, and am on the team that trains churches and leaders from all across the country and internationally!! I have been with Real Life since it’s beginning, and Jim is not only my co-worker but also my friend! I hope you guys enjoy the book, and consider coming to go through one of our trainings!

I am from India & a world traveller. Delhi is 1 of my favourite cities & so its unfortunate that you are not able to see the beauty of India & are concerned about safety. Its a safe place & possibly people from US never travel anywhere & paranoid about everything. The wealth & history of India are large – there is more poverty in the US with people living on a false sense of income with credit card debt & all. At least people in India can retire & families are tight. Hopefully, you will also see that side of India – its not filled with depressed people living in homes & driving cars they cannot afford. Those are the people that need ” real” help.

You have been on my heart since you left. I found your blog because of WIWW and when I noticed you’re going to India for missions work, I felt kindred with you because I am going to India in June and to be honest…I’m nervous and not exactly excited! But seeing your pictures today somehow helped, I don’t know why, but thank you for sharing them.
