instafriday

life rearranged

linking up my weekly phone pics again with jeannett!

although it was a month early, we celebrated my nephew’s 1st birthday while he and my sister were here, visiting from australia.

apparently, i’m a one trick pony.

first ever sugar experience.  the boy loved his cake!  it was one of the best cake eating experiences i have ever seen!

my brother and his family also came to visit our sister and nephew.  we get pretty goofy when we’re together – this was the most non-dorky shot together.

my mom also swung by for a day and we did our normal ritual with my sister:  pedicures!

when my sister is in town, we shop.  and shop and shop and shop.  she likes to live in expensive countries, so we shop like crazy women when she’s here.  she sure is an expensive houseguest (although i guess i could NOT buy anything when she’s shopping, but that wouldn’t be very fun).  for the record, the yellow bathing suit was a huge NO.

and when you are shopping and shopping and shopping, sometimes you get a little pooped.

i am all for my kids helping me out with the biz.  they did a great job attaching posies to their cards.  yes, i support child labor ;)

oh jack is such a happy baby!

and i got to teach him how to kiss!  i love the big baby open mouth kisses!

yes, we look nothing alike.

seriously the happiest baby ever.

in bubblegum alley

and i just got some happy mail!  my super talented brother-in-law just released his new album – so fun!  we listened to it all through dinner and the girls fell asleep to it in their room.  going to be a fast favorite for sure!

i hope you have a great weekend.  i’ll be honest, mine’s going to suck (sorry for the naughty word).  my sister leaves on saturday and tears will be a’fallin’.  sadness will ensue.   pleads for moving home will happen.  squeezing babies a little too long are a definite.  distance is mean.

we shopped at old navy this week too! no swimsuits for me, but the maxi skirts were a hit! how fun that you are spending so much quality time with your sister {and wow, you are right, you don’t look anything alike, i looked several times, but her sweet baby sure looks like her}! i am sorry that she has to go on saturday, enjoy her as much as you can for a little while longer!

Makes me miss my sister… we also look nothing alike! And I also tried on one of those yellow swimsuits – giant NO! Great pics and glad you two were able to enjoy such great memories together!

I know, distance making the heart grow fonder is just a bunch of bologna. And, did you know that when I just typed the word “bologna” I have to sing the Oscar Mayer Wiener song just to know how to spell it correctly. Have a heart-mending Sunday:-(

I love your instafridays! Your sister and you are so cute together. Yes. You don’t look much alike, but I think Jack looks a lot like you! {He does look so happy and…adorable!!!} Thanks for sharing tidbits of your life with us. :-)

Aw, soak up every minute. And keep trying to convince her to move closer! A girl needs her sister:)

Oh goodness look at those beautiful blue eyes! He is so cute!

Shopping, shopping, and more shopping sounds like my kind of FUN!!! Hope y’all found some great stuff! My sis in law lives in China so when she comes back home for a visit we do the same thing. She even hits up Wally World and stocks up on beef jerky and BBQ sauce for her hubby…too funny right? They don’t have it in China.

    Child labor made me laugh!

You crack me up with your picture quotes, you answered each thing I thought… like the shopping pick, I thought ‘cute swimsuit’, and the sister pick, ‘wow they don’t look alike, or is that her friend?’, and that baby kiss, my favorite also. I can’t imagine how hard that must be. I am an only child and STILL at 38 years old long for siblings! I think you are so blessed with such an incredible family by what I have read in your posts. I just said a prayer for comfort and peace tomorrow.

Shopping and pedicures with sisters is good for the soul! I hear ya on the distance. It’s hard to live away from family. It’s why I have unlimited texting. : )

What a sweetie and what a well travelled young thing too!

Hope your sister and her family have a safe trip home. It’s nice and cool here in Australia now!

    Best wishes.

My sister is in San Fran and I’m in small town Texas. I miss her so much! I can’t imagine having her all the way on another continent! That must be so hard. Soak up your last moments of togetherness…for all of the sisters around the world separated by too many miles. …sob…

  16. 16

Oh my gosh, what a cutie your nephew is!! Bummer about the yellow swimsuit. Looks like everything else was super cute, though!

  17. 17

You are so lucky to have a sister!

Hey, how did you make that crazy awesome gigantic cupcake?

  18. 18

Aww I know exactly how that sister-living-far-away thing feels. Only I’m the one living far away in Northern California, and she is the one pleading for me to move back home to Australia. I’m here in Oz right now actually, visiting for our little brother’s wedding. But we’ll soon be crying because I leave on Tuesday….boo :( Where exactly does your sis live? I’ve been reading about the Stitch Market, very excited to try to figure out the logistics & possibly apply to participate in your summer market (if you plan on one this year) since I’ve missed the spring one. Hugs, Megan :)
