hello monday!

hello monday!

and hello to a busy weekend of crafting to make our mantle a little more fun!

and hello to a fun print of my kiddos that only took me a year or so to print – oops!

hello to keeping it real with piles of dishes – clearly we had better things to do this weekend than clean!

hello to not 1, not 2, but 3 kids learning to surf this weekend!

hello to warm beach weather and slathering sunscreen.

hello to finding extra time to work in the garden – it is so rewarding this time of year!

the veggie’s are getting bigger and the fresh cut flowers are filling our house already!

hello to surprising sean with a road ride this morning!

it was our anniversary yesterday and gracie’s birthday, so clearly the birthday won over yesterday.  but today the kids are at school and we’re spending the day together!  praying i don’t crash!

and come say hello to me over at life rearranged today – i’m talking about the things the baby books don’t tell you and our decision to homeschool.  and there’s a giveaway!

and while you’re there, check out jeannett’s fundraiser she’s got going on – in conjunction with her series on motherhood, she’s fundraising for mother’s across the globe, to provide clean drinking water for them and their children.  what’s not to love about that?  i love jeannett’s heart for others!

linking up with lisa for hello monday!

Thanks for that post over at life rearranged. You are always such a bright spot in my day! I know you don’t talk much about homeschooling on the blog but I am so grateful you talked about it today. I’m struggling so much with what to do with my kids next year. Even though their elementary school is in a super urban area… it is a great school… comes wrapped in pretty paper with a bow. Some think I would be crazy not to send them there next year… But I know the easiest decision isn’t always the best. Thanks for reminding me of that. Seriously. xo.

Lindsay, you are truly organized & teaching your children is a better life & education than being in a class with 30 children & who knows why type of homes those children come from. Many parents are opting for this lifestyle as education quality is getting lower each year & parents have to resort to after school extra tuition anyway as mant topics are not even taught in school & teachers being cut from budgets left & right. As a parent its the best gift you could give…between the business & homeschooling – not sure how you operate all but congrats. I can tell you have a love for it all –

Loved your post, Lindsay. I am sending my oldest to Kindergarten next year and still keep questioning whether it’s the right decision for her. For me, I need to know what’s out there (school-wise) before I make a decision, but it’s so good to hear the reality of your experience. love your blog–it’s one of my favs!

Happy anniversary and happy birthday to Gracie, too. I love how you decorated your mantel. The jars with the pinwheels are so whimsical and pretty. Out of curiosity, did you colour the Mason jars or are they blue? I have a few jars here that I’d love to colour blue but I’m not sure what the end result will be like. If you coloured yours, they look divine and it makes me want to give it a go. The post of Jeanett’s site was amazing too. i wish I had the opportunity to part home school and also have them at a school. You have the perfect balance in my opinion.
