what i wore wednesday

welcome to another week of what i wore wednesday!  i started this little weekly post so long ago, to help me get out of the rut of staying in my jammies or sweats all day long.  it feels so much better to be dressed all day (or at least until about 5 o’clock!) than to lounge around all day in the clothes i slept in.  life as a stay-at-home mom can easily trap me into clothing boredom, but doing this wiww thing weekly has really helped me out!

top – forever 21

sweater – target

jeans – old

shoes – nordstrom rack

necklace – allora handmade

ruffle top – banana republic

sweater – all saints

jeans and flats – target

petal pushers – the pleated poppy

necklace – lisa leonard designs

while i have yet to jump on the colored denim bandwagon (trying to not buy new clothes – so hard!), i pulled out these pink chinos that i hadn’t worn in ages.  like so long ago that they had dust on them!

shirt – forever 21

pink pants – old navy (super old)

shoes – nordstrom rack

necklace – crystal b.

  2. 2

You are too cute!! HUGE thanks for hosting!!

  3. 3

OK, first- I had those pink chinos, along with a few other colors. After babies, my body growing and shrinking, and growing…they just never fit me to same. :( I’m so bummed! They look SO cute on you! I’ve always loved that Crystal b necklace, too. Thank you so much for continuing to host and give so many of us the confidence to share. Have fun this weekend! Wish I was going to shop!

  4. 4

I love the pink chinos! they look great with the chambray and so comfy :)

  5. 5

Oh I love your first outfit!! How adorable. Such sweet colors!

  6. 6

Great outfits, you really have a knack for coming up with fresh outfits without buying too many new things! I’d REALLY love a tutorial for the side braid! So cute. I can braid other people’s hair no problem but how in the world do you braid your own and get it looking so nice? Please share. :)

  7. 7

You always look SO darling. Love the pink chinos–on you. My favorite, the first outfit, because it’s exactly something I’d wear. Also, that funky sweater in 2nd photo. Love it with the ruffled shirt.
Inspired. I so need to go shopping. :-)

  12. 12

Though I’m on a WIWW break for a few weeks, I sure do love visiting! Lindsey, as always, your outfits are great inspirations.

  13. 13

You look great, I love the crystal b necklace. Can you tell me the brand and color of lipstick you use. I have similar skin tone and hair color and yours always looks good, thanks!

  14. 14

Love that first top and the pink pants are perfect!

  15. 15

I love the first outfit, the way you paired stripes with a lacy, feminine top, super cute! I am going to have to use WIWW this summer as major accountability now that I am on vacation!

  16. 16

I’m an English professor at O’More College of Design, so I am constantly surrounded by fashion design students. They make me want to step up my wardrobe game, so to speak, and this site is an incredible inspiration to me. I’ve just shared it with my students as well. Thank you!

  17. 17

I like your pink pants! Super-cute.

  18. 18

I am an English professor at O’More College of Design, so I work with a lot of fashion design students. (This literature and writing nut is a fish out of water in some ways!) They make me step up my wardrobe game, and this site and all the link ups are great inspiration to me. I’ll try not to ignore my kids too much on Wednesdays while I peruse everyone’s stuff. Thank you!

  19. 19

Love your hair with the braid! Very pretty!

Thanks for hosting this linky, I love to see your style. I am always amazed by the lovely, Godly women that I stumble upon with their blogs. I am inspired by their outfits and words.

  23. 23

Your hair is getting so long! It looks great! And I love your casual/cute style. Thanks for hosting this, Lindsey! It’s really fun :)

    Danyelle says:

I just wanted to make you aware that some tasteless person put a derrier picture on number 14. Some people!

As always, love your outfits this week and absolutely adore your blog.

  26. 26

I’m retired and I know exactly what you mean about not dressing up during the day. Sometimes I even put on my raincoat to go to the bottom of the driveway to get the mail because it’s so far. I’m going to try to join up next week and maybe, for a change, I can get dressed before my husband gets home from work.

  27. 27

ADORABLE! The last look is probably my favorite :)

  28. 28

Sad that those pink pants are old because I love them!!!

  29. 29

Lindsey you are too cute! I love every outfit. Hope you’re having a great week! Thanks for hosting. =)

I love all your outfits!! I really love those sunglasses, where are they from? Thank you for hosting!

    Momma Totally in Love

  33. 33

Oh Lindsey, I have been loving your outfits lately! I meant to go back and comment on last week’s WIWW too (for some reason comments won’t post from my phone – annoying!) because you were rocking those Converse. Every single year I am drawn to them (same color as you have) and try them on…..and decide they just make me look too frumpy. You, however, make them look adorably cute and so I will of course go back this winter and try them on again :) Your Forever 21 tops are really sweet too, I think I need to make a visit there soon (although there’s sooo much stuff in-store that I just struggle to sift through it all for the decent stuff). And the pink chinos…..the BEST colored pants look I’ve seen this season! I’m not a huge fan of the colored denim, but those are lovely on you. Have a great week! :)

  34. 34

Hey girlie! I have been “skinnie-ing” my old pants like a crazy person! It’s really easy to do! You could totally do it with your pink pants and then they’d be more like the colored denim! I just dyed a pair of thrifted white jeans mint because who knows how long the colored denim thing will be cute so I’m not forking out the big bucks!

  35. 35

I love your leopard print flats! I’ve been thinking about branching out with some animal print, and shoes seem like a safe way to do it. And that gray all saints sweater…so cute!

  36. 36

I always enjoy your looks because they are so varied. The animal print flats with the wrap sweater is the real scene stealer this week!

  37. 37

LOVE the pink chinos!! Thanks for hosting!

  38. 38

I just found your blog through For the Love of a Cupcake, what I wore Wednesday.

    I love it.

And who needs the new colored skinnies when you have those FAbuLous Chinos?

    Follower :)

  39. 39

Love the braid with your sunglasses! I seriously need to watch some hair tutorials :)

  40. 40

Love the grey cardigan look with the simple hair braid. Lovely! :)

  41. 41

I absolutely love your 2nd outfit – the whole thing is just adorable and super flattering! :) Linking up!

  42. 42

I love the ruffle top and it looks so cute with the sweater and your petal pusher. And the pink chinos are super cute. Yeah for shopping the closet to find “new” clothes.

  43. 43

I HAD those pink pants (in slate blue and brick red too) from Old Navy. Got them for $1.97 a few years back. Of course, I wasn’t smart enough to keep them… you look adorable in them!

  44. 44

Hey Lindsey! I love those pink chinos and I’m sure I have the exact same ones except in trad. chino colour. I was wondering if you knew if it was possible to dye chinos? I am also trying not to buy new clother, but rather repurpose what I have. Let me know what you think, or if you know someone who might know the answer to this question would you mind passing it along? Thanks so much (in advance) and, by the way, I love your style!! Keep up the great blogging! :o)

  45. 46

What an awesome link up idea! I can’t wait to link up next Wednesday! I suppose I better dress cute this week huh :)

  46. 47

Love that first outfit! And I am loving your gray chucks!

  47. 48

Why did I have so much trouble finding your blog posts last week? I’m just now seeing this and I looked Wed-Fri for your WIWW so I could link up. :(

  48. 49

I love colored chinos-especially paired with the chambray AND the chucks. This ‘fit is so HOTTT!!
