what i wore wednesday

hey friends!  this is my first official wiww of summer and, well, i was kind of a slacker.  as always, i have plenty of excuses on the ready:  while our husbands have been fishing for a few days, my mom and i have been tackling project after project, so most of what i wore was painting clothes, gardening grubbies, or a bathing suit (a girl’s gotta relax a little, right?).

if you’re new here, my main purpose of wiww is to encourage other women to simply get dressed.  and by get dressed i mean out of jammies, out of sweats, out of yoga pants.  put on an actual outfit and maybe even some accessories.  its amazing how much better you’ll feel about yourself and as much as your husband may like you in your snug yoga pants, he’s gonna like it even more when you pretty yourself up a bit.  i’m not talking hours in front of the mirror, primping.  just maybe 15 minutes of getting dressed, running a brush through your bed head, and throwing on a sweep of blush and a dab of lipgloss.

this was my church outfit and what i wore running errands.

top – forever 21

jeans – local shop

wedges – old navy

projects around the house and running more errands (how many times can i go to home depot in one week?!)

t-shirt – forever 21

jeans – target

chucks – nordstrom rack

necklace – lisa leonard designs

(ps – just for full disclosure, i took about 15 pictures of this outfit.  trying to suck in your stomach and take a steady picture at the same time is tricky.  and that sideways lighting does not help!)

so sloppy, i know!  but i was so comfy.  i wore this working around the house, watching 6 kids, and running a few more errands.  why are there so many more errands associated with doing projects?!

sweater – old navy

tank and lounge pants – target

flops – payless

wanna link up with me?  yay!  just follow the rules:

    xo em

You’re totally cute, even when you’re “sloppy” – and I’m so glad you admitted to taking 15 pictures while trying to hold your stomach in and balance the camera. Sometime we should post WIWW Outakes! LOL.

And you can make a gray tee and jeans look better than anyone I know. :-)

“trying to suck in your stomach and take a steady picture at the same time is tricky.” CRACK UP! (and I know what you mean) :-) Your cuteness is so fun to see every week! xo!

Love the sloppy look because it looks trendy! :)

Love that forever21 top and even your comfy outfit is cute! Laughing at how many times you had to go to Home Depot in a week, that is normally my issue in a day. How is that I can forget multiple things necessary for completing the project multiple times? I think it’s a conspiracy. Definitely. Between the oil companies and the home improvement stores :)

Love the first top – so cute! Thanks for hosting! :)

  12. 12

I love that you shared your comfy working around the house outfit, too. =) Keepin’ it real and still looking cute!

  14. 14

I agree that getting dressed can make a woman feel so much better…even if lounge clothes are soooo comfy! I need to learn how to accessorize, though. That’s the one thing I always neglect but I always like it when I make an effort. Thanks for keeping this blog going to encourage more of us to do it!

    xo,

I have got to get to forever 21!! You always have the cutest things from there. I love how you look cute even in your comfy clothes. : ) Thanks for hosting. I started my Frivolous Fashion Friday posts for the same reason you started WIWW. However, at the time I didn’t even know about your blog. I feel soo much better getting myself dressed and prettied up everyday. It’s soo easy to fall into the mom rut and just worry about what the kids look like. Have a great rest of the week!

I LOVE your “Sloppy outfit” I think you should have added a bunch of jewelry to it…… those leopard Target sandlas you have, chunky gold necklace and a little arm party and your look would be relaxed chic!
