summer list – i took the kids for a walk downtown: check!  and then to the library: check!  my oldest is going through almost a book a day so we’ll be spending a lot of time there!

i found this sweet little heart in the sidewalk crack

we couldn’t even make it home without her reading a book.

summer list – hiked to the top of madonna mountain: check!

so almost at the top of the mountain there were 2 ways to get to the top.  boys vs. girls!  girls kicked tail and poor silas, as he’s nearing the finish and we’re cheering him on, he falls smack! down on his belly.  so sad!

the world’s smallest circus came to town.  we decided to steal the kids’ lemonade money and take them to the circus!  yay for sneaky parenting ;)

for a one ring circus, it was actually really good!

summer list – camp in the backyard: check! do it 2 nights in a row… now i’m just showing off ;)  the kids are at such fun ages that things are just more fun now!

my waking view in the tent

apparently, going for a hike, the circus, sleeping in the tent, and swimming all day make for one tired boy.

i just switched my email address and it was a pain for a few days.  see that HUGE number?  yeah, it freaked me out, too!  but now i have been able to get it down to zero every day – so awesome!  now thats not counting the 30+ that i still need to respond to in another folder…

sean and i each take time to date the kids, and it was my turn with lily.  we went to tea at the madonna inn.  she loved the tea (with about 2 tablespoons of pink sugar) and the gigantic pink cream puff.  i love that she got herself all dressed up!

i repurposed some of my decorates from jeannett’s shower to 4th of july decorates.   i just swapped out the orange yarn to red yarn.  then the wind picked up and tangled it all into a knotty mess.  boo.

a girlfriend and i swapped kids a couple days this week – i had all 6 first then she had them all a couple days later.  its amazing how productive i can be when my kids are happily playing!  when i had all the kids at my house i organized my entire hutch – it was awesome!

i added more beachy bloom bags to my shop this week.  i love the soft rope handles contrasted with the shiny patent fabric.

we had a super mellow 4th, celebrated with friends in our backyard, a bbq and popsicles – easy peasy.

and then we put a movie on for the kids and took a late afternoon nap!

on my day when the kids were at a playdate, i made myself a big ol’ bowl o’ salad and watched some trash tv.  and then i ate a cookie.

i finally started working with the fabric i brought back from india!  the ikat fabric is not from india, but the others are – it was really challenging, but fun, to make it work!  and i am super excited with the brand new product i came up with!

its been a really really long time since we had new petal drop necklaces in the shop, but here is the first batch – all french cut ones – aaaah, i love these!  i’m hoping to have them all listed in the next couple days, unless i get a rush of energy to get them done sooner…

we already went to the barn today to pick olalaberries and hang out with friends, and we’re going to watch a concert in the park tonight.  we are making the most of this summer and it has been so. much. fun!

Hopping by from the link up. I adore your zest for summer! And now I am going to beg my friend to swap kids with me, too. That is a brilliant, brilliant idea.

  2. 2

I’m excited for the day all of my kids are in the same “ability” age range so we can go and do some fun things like the circus! Fun summer!

  3. 3

I always look forward to your insta-friday posts! So fun!

How do you limit tv at your house?
My daughter likes to read- but it seems she always would rather watch tv. I know it is up to me to limit it, but just wanted to know what you do with your kiddos.

Your ticking things of that summer list at warp speed! Sounds like lots of fun!

I too am loving my girls’ ages these days. I know some people just love baby-hood but to be honest…I never felt that way. I was always so happy when they started to be a little more independent. Walking on their own, sleeping on their own, shall I continue? :)
This year we didnt make a summer list but we’re taking things day by day. Swim lessons and pool time, homemade chalk paint for the sidewalks, tents, baking cookie pops, a reading incentive I got them started on. Its been such a fun summer already and soon we’ll have a vacation with them too.
I cant wait for hubbys and my trip to Central America at summers end. Im really looking forward to handmade markets and experiencing all of that in new countries:)

kid swapping is brilliant, especially if it means some organization. woohoo!
