welcome to “what i wore wednesday”!
i started wiww ages ago to keep myself accountable to just get dressed each day. i found myself lounging in sweats and pj’s all day long as a stay-at-home mama and i needed some motivation to put a little effort into my appearance. i have found that i am more productive and generally in a better mood when i feel good about how i look – nice benefit! another nice benefit: my husband likes it, too ;)
if you’re lacking motivation for getting dressed or trying something new in the clothing department, please join us! women of all ages, shapes, and sizes are linking up and inspiring so many of us to step out of our comfort zones!
ballet-wrap sweater, stripes and leopard flats – feeling kinda frenchy!
sweater – brass plum
striped tee – old navy
layering tank – local boutique
jeans and flats – target (similar flats here)
necklace – allora handmade
i am a firm believer in adding leopard print to your wardrobe! it is a classic print that has been around for… well, as long as leopards have been around! leopard flats are an easy, safe way to add a bit of classic style and sass to almost any outfit. another easy option would be a leopard skinny belt.
leopard print is also an easy start for mixing patterns – it goes easily with stripes!
chambray top – forever 21 (similar here)
shorts – banana republic outlet (similar here)
ruffle tank – old navy
pale gold sandals – target
this classic, simple outfit needed just a tiny pop of color, and these earrings did it!
earrings – ike & co.
this simple necklace goes with just about anything. i chose my last initial to remind me of the importance of family.
necklace – lisa leonard deisgns
and then we drive 3 hours up the coast and brrrrrrrr! the weather is overcast, misty and chilly!
old man cardigan & striped shirt – forever 21
jeans (nearly see through they are so old!) – local boutique
converse – nordstrom rack
infinity scarf – the pleated poppy (will be coming back in the fall!)
when i’m chilly its all about layers for me. i wasn’t expecting the weather to be quite as cold as it was, so my outfit is a little… off? i felt like a teenager with my skinny jeans pushed down against my converse, but my ankles were so cold i had to!
sweater – gap
shirt – gap (hand-me-down)
jeans – target
converse – nordstrom rack
infinity scarf – the pleated poppy
persimmon, navy and a touch of gold – love this color combo!
cardigan, tank & jeans – forever 21
earrings – gift from my sister-in-law
new gold sandals – old navy

Love the leopard print tip. I used to have a wide leopard belt, but I never wore it. (it was NOT fabulous) I’ll have to do a little shopping :) The variety of weather on the coast always floors me. It’s been over 100 here every day. So crazy! Good thing you have such a great layering wardrobe!
I love your lisa leonard necklace, I really have to get myself one she has such cute stuff! Thanks for motivating us all to get dressed :)

You look great in the skinny jeans rolled down. It looks cold! I have to remember to accessorize more. You always look so put together :)
Cute outfits today Lindsey! I Agree with you on the leopard print…I need some of that in my life :-). And the persimmon/navy/gold combo??? Beautiful! Happy Wednesday!
loving your leopard print shoes!!
I giggled at your teenager/skinny jeans comment. You look super cute!
I absolutely adore those leopard flats! They are definitely on my “to buy” list because leopard and flats are both so versatile. It’s a perfect combo! Thanks for hosting the link up!

I love seeing your WIWW posts!
I love leopard, my Grandmother was a fan, too and I remember clearly her 60’s hats, clutches and coats! My closet is host to leopard: flats, peep toe wedges, kitten heels and a belt (or 2). As always thanks for hosting, I love connecting with all the lovely ladies here.
I think you look adorable in your skinny jeans and Converse :) I would love to have some cooler weather like that here…ready for fall!
I have those same flats. I avoided wearing them as the “elastic” was rubbing along my ankle. So I pulled out my mole skin and slapped some on the edge and now they are perfect.
I can’t join you on What I Wore Wednesdays as this is the one day a week I can get a looooooong run in so I can have Sundays off. So I spend most of the day in my running clothes! They are not photo worthy …… yet! I am planning on investing in some nicer items and start getting rid of some of the, *gulp* 20 + year old shorts and t-shirts! When that happens, I will link up.

I love your style. My favorites are the ruffle top at the beach and the very casual outfit with the orange earrings – you were right, the outfit needed a very small pop of color and that earring is perfect.
Love love love your outfits this week! Even your chilly weather ones :) I love the ‘French’ look and whole heartedly agree with you on the leopard flats. Anytime a pair of mine wear out I have to immediately replace them!
I love your outfits! You’re a great inspiration to me…so much so that I went out and bought grey converse all-stars! I haven’t yet been brave enough to wear them with skinny jeans, but you looked great! I’m longing for cooler weather because I don’t know how to dress when it’s hot out.
Even if you think you look like a teenager, you can get away with it. You look fab!
And I love those Ike&co earrings. Heading over to that etsy shop next to check her out!!!
I have on my leopard flats today! SCORE FOR ME!
Love all these outfits! You do so great making outfits from affordable pieces! My kinda gal!
ive seen so many leopard print flats and have yet went on the limb and purchase… so Iam definitely regretting it now. Ive linked-up today :) Thankkks
You are adorable!! I can’t believe you can get away with wearing sweaters and jeans in July! It’s crazy humid here and I’d simply melt. lol
I just found your blog and this link up via April at Knocked up and Fabulous. How fun! I think leopard print is a neutral. I wear it in so many outfits. Honestly- probably too often.

I love leopard and agree that adding a little is a great way to spice up an outfit.
You are like my own personal shopper ;) thanks for finding those cute earrings. They are just what I needed to add to an outfit.
Ok, those little leopard flats are TOO CUTE!!! A must have for every girl for sure.
Very cute outfits, Lindsey! LOVE the earrings w/ the orange and blue. Great color combination.
Loving the flats
your outfits are always adorable!!! I’m using my posy pins to keep our beach towels straight when at the pool and beach with friends…so cute! http://polkadotnotebook.blogspot.com/2012/07/towel-finder.html#
Two things:
1. “persimmon, navy and a touch of gold.” Never thought of that…..that is so detailed! You are funny. Do men even know that persimmon, navy and a touch of gold exist in the color scheme of life? ;O)
2. I love the way you change up your hair. Have you ever talked about the various ways you style your hair for those of us who are styling challenged?

is that sweater really called an old man cardigan, funny. love how you put outfits together. I need to try something other than my yoga pants and t-shirt uniform. :)
You always wear the cutest outfits! Have you tried the sock bun? I think it’d be so cute on you!
Great outfits as usual! Love the new gold sandals. Cute! ;) And leopard shoes are awesome! ;) I have three pair and am planning on another as soon as fall rolls around. :)
