i mentioned before, some of our closest friends are adopting a baby from korea. i can’t imagine how hard the wait has been on them – its even felt hard to me! the good news, he’s coming home on tuesday and we are elated for them. for something that has seemed so surreal for so long, its now got a somewhat concrete feeling because there is an actual date, no more wondering “when?”.
joy (ezra’s mom) asked me to help her choose fabrics for his quilt – one of my favorite things in the whole wide world. after we finished picking them out, she mentioned dreading actually making the quilt. and i was really hoping to make something special for him, but didn’t want to take that away from his mom, so i hadn’t yet. but when joy said that, i jumped in and said “i’ll make it!!!”.
i made a simple strip quilt. seriously so easy. some day, when i decide to sew in daylight hours and not after midnight, i’ll have to teach you how to do these – its totally beginner level.
and i cheat and don’t do binding. someday when i grow up i’ll try it, but not now.
i didn’t want a solid back, but wanted to use some of the scraps i had left over. i had been eying chevron quilts for a bit and decided to give it a go. again, super easy! i was surprised how simple it was – and quick!
so cute, right? its actually just made with all triangles puzzle pieced together!
when i was done, i still had fabric left over and made a couple throw pillows to coordinate.
i can’t wait to see that little baby all wrapped up and snuggled in his blanket!
