what i wore wednesday

welcome to what i wore wednesday!  if you are looking for some accountability to get out of your yoga pants and put just a smidge more effort into yourself, join me and link up here!  i have gone from wearing pj’s or sweats nearly everyday, to taking a few minutes to put on real clothes – my husband takes notice and i feel so much better about myself!

i pulled this skirt out from the back of my closet – i think i got it about 10 years ago!  what i love about it is the lace inset in the pleats.  but the length was making it feel a little bit stuffy, so i added a casual striped tee.  the coral sweater added just enough texture with the tiny ruffles down the front.  the length of this skirt pretty much demands heels, so i went for my comfy black suede wedges.  i added the pale aqua earrings and necklace for a little bit of contrast.

i really want this bracelet, but i decided for now to just fake it on my own!  i gathered all the silver chain bracelets i have, 2 from lisa, one from sean, and one knock-off tiffany bracelet, and piled them all together!

citta design sent me this bag  –  i love it!  its way bigger than i was expecting, but it was actually perfect for the beach and will make a great overnight bag.  the colors are really fun, the fabric is high quality and the leather straps are soft and comfortable.

i loved that it zipped up for time at the beach, so little feet couldn’t accidentally kick sand in it.  it was so roomy that i was able to fit 3 towels, a pile of magazines, my phone protected in a zippered pouch, sunscreen, my water bottle, and assorted rash guards and t shirts… and there was still room to dig around!

Great job with the bracelet stacking! You don’t need the expensive stuff to look chic! And that bag is perfect for a beach day, You are rocking it with the accessories this week!

  3. 3

I love that first outfit – the coral ruffled cardigan looks great against the striped top.

  4. 4

Love that maxi dress! I shopped around for one while in the US last month, but the ones I came across all had majorly low necklaces to show off ” the ladies.” Super comfy to wear though…as far as my time in the dressing room goes. This is my 1st time linking with you. So excited to hop around and be inspired!

  9. 9

I love your beach bound outfit and your stacked bracelets look good to me. :) Happy Wednesday!

Holy Cow, lady! You must have the largest linky party on the webs!

  11. 11

I like the first outfit, but I see what you mean about the skirt making you feel kinda stuffy. I have a few pieces that are that odd length and I’m not sure how to wear them. Love the way you put that outfit together and LOVE that giant bag! I’ve been looking for a big overnight bag. Thanks for hosting as always!

  12. 12

I have a similar pair of wedges. I love those wedges but I can’t wear them yet again because of foot problems. And I love the bracelets, looks really good pile up like that. I wish I have more accessories, or at least be able to wear the few accessories that I have. I just can’t seem to make them work.

  21. 21

Hi! I’m new here and I just joined the link up! I You are so right about being dolled up once in a while after days of just wearing sweat pants. I love your accessories though, it’s so pretty I have the same knock off tiffany’s too! lol!

  22. 22

Looking good and awesome outfits and accessories. :) Love that huge beach bag with zipper and sure keeps the sand from getting in. I wish we were close to the beach, but we are not. Too bad! I sure miss the ocean.

I know you have meantioned that you guy’s built your home.
I love the lay out, could you send me the measurments/layout, if possible?

We are thinking of building and the home we drew up is huge, I know we can live with smaller open rooms.

I have a confession–I wore this to church on Wednesday night, too. I threw on a hoodie and went to bible study. I’m glad that the Lord looks at the heart and doesn’t judge us on appearances. Oh yeah, I added some shoes and didn’t go barefoot.

    Nicole W. says:

You are beyond adorable – your “doable” looks inspire me weekly to step it up – and out of my yoga pants.
The anchor bracelet is undeniably darling, but I LOVE the mix of your Lisa Leonard silver bracelets. I wear something similar daily, trading out a few bracelets, and never tire of the look.

  26. 26

Linking up with you today for the first time! Hope I did it right! Spending the day checking out all the other bloggers in the party! Yay!

  27. 27

This is the SAME reason I set up my website! I lived in faux gym gear (I looked the part but never went!) .. by getting dressed every day it makes you feel good. It makes you feel alive when someone else notices and compliments you – we don’t compliment enough in life and so I am now making sure everyone feels GREAT and encouraging more women around the world to get dressed, smile, take a photo and upload it – would LOVE to see you on the site some day soon.

Hi – I am absolutely new to your blog and came from My Beautiful Crazy Life to you and I am loving it. You got yourself a new follower!!! Love the outfits – they look absolutely great and comfy – just what I like!!

The Beach Bag is the absolute best – looks not so big at all, its like a Mary Poppins Bag ;-)!!

My blog is not really related to fashion right now. In the beginning I thought I only write about fitness related topics but all the blogs I found so far are soooo inspiring that I want to broaden my topics. Check it out if you like: http://ninasmetamorphosis.blogspot.co.at

    Again love your outfits!!!
    cheers Nina
