hey friends! welcome to wiww, where i do my best to get dressed every week, and try to have a little fun while i’m at it! thanks so much to many of you who have linked up to me, welcome to the first timers (!!!), and please join us (those of you who have been to afraid to!).
and before i forget… HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! i love you so much!
saying “i’ve been busy” is one of my least favorite things to hear coming out of my mouth. but some days, okay most days, its just my reality. being a stay-at-home and work-at-home mom is very busy. throw in homeschooling and my constant need to create and that makes for a busy life.
so busy, in fact, that i sometimes forget to blog – oops! and i sometimes forget to sew – oops! and i sometimes forget to work at all for a few days on end – oops! but this week, i have a really good excuse for my lack of involvement in most of my normal routines: yard work.
in the almost 6 years we’ve lived in our home, we’ve never landscaped the front yard. just recently, we slowly started chipping away at it, and for the last 5 days, we have been working full force on it (yay!). but we chose one of our hottest weeks of the summer to do it (boo.). so we only work from about 7 a.m. until noonish then its just too hot.
so this picture is to give you a taste of what i’ve gotten myself into (believe me, this dirt looks good compared to the weeds that were there before!), what i’ve really been wearing most of this week, and my excuse as to why i only have 2 outfits to share.
i think white pants are a summer staple, don’t you? this outfit would be rather boring if it weren’t for the shot of color in the punch accessories. its still a basic striped tee with cropped jeans, but adding 2 simple accessories pulls the whole outfit together.
top – old navy
jeans – lucky brand (hand-me-downs)
gold flip flops – old navy
necklace – forever 21
bracelet – street fair
white pants again, this time for church.
shirt – forever 21
linen pants – gap
wedges – old navy
necklace – allora handmade
bracelet – stacy lynn
