life rearranged

linking up my weekly phone pics with jeannett!  if you’re on instagram too, i’m thepleatedpoppy – follow me!

just a couple pics i snagged from a friend while we were at bass lake.  silas and his buddy – totally bonded over this trip.  it was pretty cute.  how did si get so big all of a sudden?!

another stolen picture… but how cute are those sandy hearts?  we really had such a great, relaxing weekend away.  i love making memories!

and after 5 days of playing hard all day in the sun, sand and water, it was time to crash.  with your hand still in the cheetos bag.

this picture is everything boy: super hero shirt, camo, walkie talkie, legos, and bare feet.

do you see that?  5 lbs of tomatoes!  our tomato plants are taller than me and producing like crazy – its a good thing we like tomatoes around here!

i have been replaced as resident smoothie maker.  and i’m ok with that.

this boy still loves his books.  and miraculously, he’s learning to read them!  s l o w l y .

rooted in paper gave me a tiny sneak peek at our holiday stitch market flier – eeeeek!  its so pretty!

if you’re local and you have mad creative skills (and make stuff to sell), apply here to be a part of our market!

some days i eat super healthy for lunch – all veggies with hummus – yummmmm.

and some days i drink 3 cups of coffee and eat a s’more.  or 2.   it should balance out in the end, right?

look out for ninjas at the park.  they will kill you with cuteness.  and keep you company during soccer practice.

so excited to have my boy playing soccer this year!

this is how we homeschool:  work boxes.  i don’t know how i ever did it before.

our town had its annual street painting festival – i spotted lisa‘s pretty space!

this is our town’s famous bubble gum alley.  its awesome and disgusting.  i can’t breathe in there.  something about breathing in thousands of strangers’ saliva grosses me out.  i spent about 20 seconds yelling “don’t touch!” before i made us leave.

yes, lily is wearing a skirt as a shawl.  she’s a trend setter.  you’ll see it all over the runways this fall.

when i see my pile of brand new fabric has pencil marks on it, and i’m looking where to place blame, i need to look no further than to the boy next to the fabric holding the pencil.  argh.

i snagged myself  some happiness out of my shop.

we went on a family hike and i was grumpy.

and a child to remain nameless complained of the following: i’m thirsty, i’m hungry, i’m tired, i need to go potty (twice).

thankfully, it was a short 1.8 miles and then we were done.

 how was your week?

  1. 1

Some of MY saliva is in that alley! Bwhahaha!

  2. 2

Great pics! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a child read!

    You made my day :)

I am soooooo going to steal Lily’s fashion trend. I have many skirts that I adore & only get to wear to church. My job as a construction manager isn’t skirt friendly. But … I always wear a hoodie or a plain poncho in the office because my boss keeps it really cold. A skirt used as a wrap would be a cuter option.

Funny because I am AVOIDING soccer (and anything else that uses a ball and makes me sit in a grass field for hours) like the plague. I mean, I actually kinda want to curl up into a ball and cry knowing that this is probably the last year I can get away with pretending like sports don’t exist. And you’re excited. How are we friends?

  5. 5

LOVE all your pics! I am so seriously coveting your beautiful aqua colander. :)

Long time reader, but I rarely comment…trying to branch out a bit and maybe make a new friend or two in the process! Your blog has been a favorite of mine for a long time….so, there you have it, and here I am! Our tomato plants have gone crazy, too…what do you do with all the tomatoes? I’m running out of creative ideas! Happy weekend to you!

  7. 7

I love your scale! I’ve been looking at all our antique shops for one like that!

  8. 8

My tomato plants look like they’re starting to recover from the drought/heat finally. I’m hoping for some late season crops too!

  9. 9

I love your scale too! It’s so pretty! Our tomatoes didn’t do as well this season – not enough rain. Enjoy your tomatoes! (Found you from instaFriday)

Stopped by via Instafriday – thanks for sharing so many fabulous pictures. Bubble gum alley is amazing to me! Such a fabulously gross idea, I think I would have a hard time not gagging, but also think it’s pretty cool. lol

Ewh…that bubble gum alley! Who thought to do that?

  12. 12

Oh, those writing utensils and the little people using them. My new sofa was marked less than 24 hours after coming through the door last week. :(

  13. 13

wacky wednesday!!!! oh i loved that book as a child. i must see if my mom still has it. i would love to read it to the kids. ; ) happy weekend!

  14. 14

Ugh, Ive seen that bubblegum alley on Lisa’s blog a few times and was so grossed out initially. But I know Id say “take me there” if I came to visit. You’re right…its disgusting and yet a draw all at once.
Id also be interested to know who thought that one up/the history behind it. Hope you’re having a great weekend:)
