we’re using singapore math this year again.  as much as i love it for the kids, it is hard!  i am doing my best to not grab my calculator to double check my 2nd grader’s work!

at the end of a long week, mama doesn’t want to cook.  who am i kidding?  i don’t even want to cook at the beginning of the week!  and this guy?  he was all sorts of angry because he couldn’t snap his fingers.  not sure how he even though of it, but he was m a d!

on saturday our house was part of a homeschool room tour through our school, ending in lunch at our place.  it was such an inspiring event and helped to remind me of why we do what we do!

while at target for not shoes, i stumbled upon these, for only $7.48!  they were comfortable enough so they came home with me!

i’m at allume this weekend and threw together some gifts last minute.  i love giving a little gift along with my business card to women i meet at conferences!

i drove down to LAX wednesday night because i had to fly out at 6am thursday morning for allume.  this was my bed at the hotel.  yes, so very generous to give me 5 pillows.  but… they were tiny!  so weird.

now i’m at allume and i got some good time with maggie – so fun!  i’m exhausted from little sleep and lots of travel, so i’m being antisocial and already in bed (its only 7pm at home).

While at Allume, if you run into my friend Andrea from Martha Street dot com, please pack her in your luggage for the return flight. You can drop her off in Santa Maria on your way home so she can visit me :)

Was your hotel a holiday inn? We just stayed at one in Texas last weekend that had those exact same bands around the exact same teeny tiny pillows. They were not very comfy!

Why do you do what you do? (home school that is?)

wow, thats a pretty big question! at this point, i can’t imagine sending my kids to school full time, 5 days a week. i just want to be with them more than that. but, since i do have a nearly full time job with my shop, and i can’t imagine homeschooling full time, our hybrid schooling (2 days at school, 3 days at home) fits perfectly for us. plus i love the education they are getting and they are thriving where they are.

I have those shoes too! Except pretty sure I bought them as soon they came out…meaning I paid full price. Whoops…looks like I should’ve waited!!

I’m 44 and can’t snap my fingers on my right hand. It’s weird, I think, considering that I’m right-handed! I’ve stayed at several hotels lately that had the tiny pillows. I don’t like it!

I love your insta fridays!!! :( to you your wee man not being able to snap his fingers yet. When our Zoe was unable to whistle she to was upset! So her father told her that if she ate her crust she would be able to whistle, so she started eating her cust all the time and soon enough she started to whistle. (She still eats her crust) We get a good chuckle out of this every now and again!
