what i wore wednesday

hello wednesday!  so… i’m kind of a terrible host this week.  1 outfit.  ONE!  but here’s my excuses: lily had the flu, i had the flu, it was raining, and i’m prepping for the stitch market.  so.  all of those things added together equals me rarely getting dressed.  at all.  ok, not nudie or anything, but definite lounge clothes. and by lounge clothes i mean the clothes i fell asleep in, then woke up in, then wore all day.  repeat.

if you’re new here, this is not normal.  promise.  the whole reason why i do wiww is to get dressed.  its that easy.  i feel better about myself when i get dressed each day.  and after doing that for awhile i start mixing it up a bit and trying new things and accessorizing differently.  its fun, try it!

what i wore wednesday at the pleated poppy

sean i were able to sneak away for a quick date to the book store (free – yay!), so i had to get dressed for it.  i’m not kidding.  at 7 o’clock.  and as soon as we got home i was back in the jams.  this is an exciting life, you guys.

so, when i did get dressed this week, here’s what i wore:

sweater – old navy

striped top & jeans – forever 21

boots – steve madden

what i wore wednesday at the pleated poppy

scarf – handmade by my mother-in-law

i wrapped it around my neck a few times, secured it with a giant safety pin, and voila!  i have a cowl scarf!

and the hair?  this is what happens when i don’t blow dry my bangs after a shower, but fall asleep instead.  so i had to braid them back, and then it looks purposeful!  genius.

so, how about you?  do you want to not follow my example at all this week?  join me next week, when i will actually (hopefully) have a handful of outfits to share!

do you wanna join me?  yay!  just follow the rules:

  5. 5

Pretty scarf.. so special that it’s handmade by a family member! Love the braided bangs look!

  6. 6

Love this look. I’m layering with stripes too, they just cheer me up. I’ve been thinking of getting some skinny jeans, finally (yes I know, how many years late to the party am I?) I didn’t like the idea of my hips being accentuated too much and long tops don’t help, but this slim layer with loose but not long layer over the top would work! Thanks for sharing it, you are about to be pinned! Have a lovely day :)

  7. 7
