my kids go back to school today, which for some people is a relief. but for me, it means more work (since we homeschool part-time). i love love love vacations so we can stay at home and just be. no pressures, no deadlines. looks like i need to hold out until spring break to get my next time off with the kiddos… all that “happy monday” stuff was more of a pep talk to myself than anything ;)
but in the mean time, i have something fun for you! since last week’s little giveaway was so much fun, why not have another?!
i’m having a “pin it to win it” contest! its so super easy – all you have to do is go to my shop and pin your favorite item to one of your pinterest boards. be sure to include “i love #thepleatedpoppy!” in your pin description (go ahead and copy it now to paste into your pin). and BAM! you’re done!
on sunday night i’ll pick a winner from all the pins. the winner will get $50 credit to my shop! woohooo!

step 1: go to my shop
step 2: choose your favorite item
step 3: pin that item to one of your pinterest boards
step 4: be sure to include the phrase “i love #thepleatedpoppy!” in your pin description! (this step is mandatory so i can find the winner)
step 5: come back tomorrow and pin another item. and the next day. and the next day…. keep pinning once a day until sunday night, january 13th. thats 7 chances to win!

I did it! But, it automatically came up with your name instead of pleated poppy. I put both in and your name is the only thing that has a link.

Thank you for hosting a giveaway that involves pinterest. I tried to enter all of the holiday gift basket giveaways but had difficulty because I don’t do facebook, or instagram, and I don’t have a blog or website (except for my teacher site, which I can’t link to). I do however do pinterest because it is GREAT for teachers. So this is one I can participate in!
I have to go back and change my pin to the hashtag instead of the @ sign….so glad I read the comments!!

I feel so ridiculous asking this question- I swear I’m not totally social media challenged.
When I get to your store and click on a fav item, I don’t know where to go from there. There is no Pin It button, so I don’t know what to do next to create a pin. Can you or someone a little more ‘in the know’ help me out?? Thanks!
I just got a phone upgrade, so I had to figure out this one too, since my old phone did not have this capability. I am on an Android, so I’m not sure about iPhones, or a PC.
Get to the page of the item you want to pin. Then, on the top right of my browser, there is a menu with a “share” option. Once you tap “share”, there are a few options (FB, Twitter, etc) and “more”. I tap on “more” and a longer list comes up. One of those options is “create a pin”. Tap on that, and a few icon choices appear. Chose your icon, then it creates the Pin page where you can edit the description. Hope this helps!

I am technologically challenged, sooo, when I went to your shop to pin an item I liked, I couldn’t figure out how to, I thought there would be a button somewhere?? Anyway, instead, I went to my pinterest page and looked you up that way and then pinned an item with the hashtag to one of my boards. Does that count? I’m so sorry! I feel silly for asking, just want to make sure I”m doing it right! Have a great day & thank you!
You can’t actually search for a specific tag on Pinterest like you can on Twitter or Instagram. (everything with those words will show up – not just those with the specific hashtag you’ve chosen).

How will you know which are actual contest entries?
I’m seeing this method used frequently for contests and am slightly confused.
i can do a search under the source that the pins are coming from (my shop) and see all the contest pins as well as those just pinning for fun.if you search under pinterest.com/source/(your web page.com) you can see all the pins from your site!
