what i wore wednesday

welcome to wiww!  i spent all day yesterday thinking it was thursday, which would make today friday.  umm, that stunk!  i was really looking forward to the week ending but now i still have 3 more days.  so yeah, its been one of those weeks.

as moms, it can be really hard to find time, energy, or desire to get dressed every day.  yoga pants are such an easy choice!  but i have found that spending just ten minutes extra can make a huge change to my day!  if i dress lazy, i feel lazy.   if i dress cute, i feel cute.  as silly as it is, dressing for the day really does make a difference!

try taking pictures of your outfits daily for a week, i dare you.  even if you don’t post the pictures online, you will start dressing better just because you are documenting it.  and if you get really brave, link up here.  please take a look at all the ladies linking up.  ok, not all because that would take FOR EVER.  but please realize that the amazing women linking up are all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages.  and its all awesome.

last week 372 people linked up!!! let’s try to make it 375 this week!

ok, now i need your opinion.  sean and i were on a date and went to ross, of course.  isn’t that what everyone does on a date?  ok, we had an hour wait for our table, so we went looking around.  anyhoo, i found these shoes:

i can’t decide if i love them or they are just too much for me.  sean says they look “aggressive”.  not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing?  what are your thoughts?  and they were only $25, if that helps your decision ;)

do you wanna join me?  yay!  just follow the rules:

Darling Old Navy refashion and hat! So cute!

  2. 2

Yay for date night! I think the sandals are super cute. Sean’s description is so funny! As long as the rest of the outfit is not too “aggressive”, I think you’ll be just fine. :)

  3. 3

I love the wedges too! A cute dress, a denim jacket…

  4. 4

    Hello Lindsey!

Your outfits are great…you are inspring me to get out of my gym clothes! I live in black gym clothes it seems. I’m going to try to be different today.

Keep the posts coming. I love them!

  9. 9

love your polka dot sweater! and love that you took the pic while curling your hair. very real life. love it!

  10. 10

    Love that first outfit–so cute!

  11. 11

Get the shoes! They look great…you know you can rock them!

  12. 12

Oh, my goodness! That first outfit…LUV. So adorable!!

I like the shoes, so I would say get them, unless of course you are uncomfortable in them. Then I say leave them, because life is too short to be uncomfortable. :-)

  13. 13

Go for it, you can rock those shoes!! Wear them on your next date night.

  14. 14

Those shoes only look aggressive because you already had on black pants. If you wear them with a dress or white pants, they would be very cute! Go back and get them!

  15. 15

LOVE those shoes!!!! You should definitely keep them. You can pair them with so many things once the weather gets nicer. Maxi dresses, wide leg pants, shorts…KEEP!!!! :)

  16. 16

That first photo is adorable! Did you add the buttons?

I love the shoes. Hot hot hot!

  17. 18

I think styled just right they will be super cute and perfect for a summer date night :) … (cute dress/shirt/skirt…)

  18. 19

If by aggressive he means aggressively awesome. You should get them!

  19. 20

Buy the shoes! Love them! Your blog posts for WWIW have inspired me to break out of wearing scrubs to work everyday and try some remixed outfits from the closet. Definately makes me feel more confident and productive.

  20. 21

i’m always reading and never commenting (bad, abby!) but i just have to say how it made my day to see you link to my dress for the day mantra. you are so kind, and such a bright spot of generosity in an often competitive blog-land. i hope to see you at blissdom this year!

  21. 23

Love the shoes! I´d say keep it. :)

  22. 24

If you think you’d wear them, then keep them! I think if they are paired with the clothes you normally wear (like skinnies and whatnot), then no- not aggressive looking at all :)

LOVE that polkadot flower! Did you make that one, too?

  23. 26

Love the shoes! Loved them before I read what you wrote about them! Also love the braids in the first outfit and the refashioned sweater! You rock, mama!

  24. 27

I love them! I think they look great on you!

  25. 28

LOVE this! I run a website (avenue57.com) as you know, that was set up for this exact same thing – ie to make just a little bit more of effort to get yourself out of a dressing rut and to make yourself feel better because you did it. Ladies all over the world post their daily look to make themselves make just a little bit more of an effort each day. I’m off to grab the code and link back to this via my blog – love love love the tan boots you are wearing in the first outfit . You look so girlie cute with your hair in bunches too!

Right off to get blog post set up and linked to you

  26. 29

UR SO CUTE! I love it. I need me some flat boots!

  27. 30

I always love all of your outfits, they always look so stylish without being over the top. I love the sandals! They look so comfortable and I think you could do a lot with them!

  28. 31

Love the black dress outfit – such a cute combo you put together!

  29. 32

i love the cardi you wore on date night and the shoes are amazing!! keep them girl!

  30. 33

    LOVE the shoes!!! Keep them!

  31. 34

I like the sandals. They are fun and chunky.

  32. 35

I love the shoes! You can never go wrong with a good pair of black cork wedges. They look practical enough and so cute :)

  33. 36

I also love the first outfit with the hat and refasioned sweater! Can you link to the post you did that on? How long ago did you get the ON sweater…too cute!

  34. 38

Love that polka dot cardigan, and those boots! Ah. I need some Steve Madden boots. And those shoes – nope, not aggressive (husbands just don’t get style, haha). I like them!! I think you should get them :)

  35. 39

I love all of your posts, but I am especially inspired by your WIWW posts. I love all the cute and affordable outfits. Curious about all of your Forever 21 clothes, do you order online or shop in stores. I live in a rural area and would love to order online, but I am unsure of their fits and sizing. Any suggestions?

    • 40

i buy in store because the sizing can be tricky. i definitely buy a size bigger than normal stores. i think jeans with a numbered waist size, like 27, are accurate though. i hope that helps!

  36. 41

    i don’t think they look like you…sorry

    • 42

i totally appreciate you telling me that! my best friend said the same thing, so i’m still thinking on it.

  37. 43

I love those shoes! I think by ‘aggressive’ he meant aggressively sexy. :) They are awesome, keep ’em.

I still need to find a polka dot cardi, too – your posts keep reminding me of that because you look so cute in yours!

We totally go to Ross on dates sometimes…it’s the only time we can both shop in peace! I think the shoes are super cute!

  39. 45

Oh what I would do for sandal weather! 12 degrees in NYC today!

  40. 46

Seriously love all your outfits this week.

I haven’t read through all the comments about the shoes yet but my initial thought is, no. I love a summer wedge but they look like your feet might slide forward and then toes hang over and that’s just yuck. You know what I mean? They are cute but fear the toe hang…

  41. 48

Yay – I’m so glad to link up this week! :) All the links of inspiration….!!!! ps. the shoes are cute, but are they really comfortable? That’s my number one thing with shoes…they have to be comfy :)

  42. 49

    Love the shoes!

  43. 50

The sandals are SUPA FAB!! I say go for it!!

  44. 51

    B. E. Agressive. Be Agressive! (i’m cheering this) If you can’t be aggresive in shoes then what’s the point? Love those boots as well. Think I’ll cruise on over to zappos and do some shoe shopping now . . .

  45. 53

I do love the “aggressive” shoes but you definitely need the right outfit to go with them. I have several pairs of “aggressive” shoes but never the right outfit. I always think the next time I go somewhere like Las Vegas I am bringing my aggressive shoes with me. And then I am like, really? How often do you go to Las Vegas? :)
