what i wore wednesday

hello wednesday!  welcome to “what i wore wednesday”, where we post our weekly (or daily) outfits, and inspire each other to simply get dressed – out of our jammies and yoga pants and into clothes that we feel good in.  if you’re needing a little motivation to get out of a fashion (or fashionless) rut.  you would be shocked at how taking pictures of yourself can motivate you to take a few extra minutes to try a new outfit combination, or add a bold accessory!  when you get brave, link up below!

this is what i wore on valentine’s day.  yep.  super sexy.

actually, it was a super practical outfit and i was trying to make practicality look cute, which can be hard!  we met my parents out at morro bay and they rented a boat for all of us to ride around the bay in.  it was so fun!  and i was really glad i opted to dress warm!

i finally figured out how to do denim on denim without it looking silly.  the key is 2 very different colors of denim (dark and light).  that is unless of course you want to look like you’re wearing a denim mechanic’s jumper.  in that case, match up that denim! (please don’t.  i’m kidding.)

chambray top – forever 21

jeans – forever 21 {newish, $10!}

i got crazy today and tried the messy bun… on the side!  i know.  trend setter.  for 9 year old girls.

i also tried to mix things up by adding a t-shirt over an oxford, and i love how it turned out!

Love the first and last outfits the most! The first is super duper seafaring cuteness! The sweatshirt makes it totally a Valentines outfit – so pretty! (I’m pinning that to see if I can be inspired by it!) The last one is so soft and cosy. I love whites and greys. Totally snuggly and warm looking! Love! :)

Just so you know – you are my fav link up! always love to see what you are wearing and others, too!

  7. 7

I saw that you purchased a necklace on Groopdealz; it’s one of my new favorite sites. I love how everything is affordable. I just purchased three different items over the past two weeks!

One of your looks I’d like to try is a t-shirt over an oxford shirt. That seems like something I can do and it will look comfy and great!

Thanks for hosting the link up!

You totally pulled off the denim on denim! Something I’m still trying to pull off and have the confidence to do haha I’ll try to pair it with a completely diff shade, thanks!

Cute outfits as always! I have to say how much I love your kitchen! Such a bright and cheerful place! If there is one thing that would make cooking fun, that would be a kitchen like yours :)

  11. 11

Your jewellery collection really is stunning!

  12. 12

It took me a while to figure out how to do the denim on denim look too. It is always the seemingly simple outfits that are the hardest to pull off. Pairing it with the leopard flats is fabulous!

    Love your Valentine’s look ;>

  13. 13

I LOVE your sexy green puffy vest! :)
Thanks for hosting such an awesome link up. I look forward to it every week!

I would love to see a version of the apron hanging in your kitchen and of the so cute camera strap in your store! Love them!!

  15. 15

    I need a bubble necklace!

  16. 16

I *LOVE* the denim on denim outfit- thanks for that. Now I know how to wear my new shirt. I am also really loving the t-shirt over the oxford. I have a v-neck T that is too big now that I have lost weight but it might work over another shirt like that. I subscribe to your blog just for the WIWW posts so I hope you keep them up! Great taste!

  17. 17

I just bought a denim shirt too and after that I realized “how the hell am I gonna pair it with a denim too??” Thanks to you! Now I’m not lost and confused. lol! Love your outfits, btw!

Thanks so much for hosting. You do seem to have managed the double denim quite well there. Well done!

  27. 27

t-shirt over oxford? i wouldn’t have thought of that but why not! you wear it well!

  28. 28

Love your mint lace sweatshirt- I have almost bought that a few times! So cute the way you styled it!

  29. 29

Denim on denim – work it! You didn’t get too matchy matchy and it really pays off in this outfit. Also, I like how the details on your shoes match your necklace in outfit 3.

I’ve been living in my puffy vest!

I always adore your outfits, your the inspiration to alot of mine. I am so glad to see how you did your denim on denim…I have been struggling with that and you look awesome! :)

I linked up #397 with my Pleated Poppy infinity scarf! :)

    Take care!

  32. 32

I love the endless possibilities of chambray shirts, and I swear you are a master at layering! I always love all of your looks :)

  33. 33

Thanks for hosting!! Loved all of your outfits! I think you can do similar denim on denim colors but only if you’ve got something layered on top of your chambray top for extra color (like a bright orange sweater)..but I agree about not attempting to rock it without something to break up the color…unless you are going for the mechanic look ;)

OMG I found your blog through Keep calm and decorate. I like her what I wore Wed. posts, and I did not know it was a whole entire big linky party! I am so psyched about this! I have been brainstorming a way to incorporate what I wear onto my blog, because I love clothes, and I just found my way! And I didn’t even have to come up with an original idea on my own! Ha! I am so linking up here next week!
