what i wore wednesday

wiww banner

hey friends, welcome to “what i wore wednesday”!  this is a happy place where i post my weekly outfits.  i try to take a pic every day in order to force myself out of my jammies.  somedays it works, some days it doesn’t (i stayed in my pj’s all day today!).  but for the most part, i get dressed nearly everyday and feel so much better about myself when i do!  if you need some extra motivation to get dressed every day, join us!

are you ready for a ton of pictures?  i have a few outfits from before our trip and another since, but most of them are while we were in france.  and funny thing, i only wore a couple of the outfits i had planned on!

ok, on to trip outfits!  after traveling for around… 18 hours?  this is what i looked like – a bit hairied, no?  the plan was to be comfy on the plane, then land in paris at 7 am, change into something adorable, and roam the city for the day.  but instead we found out plans had changed, our luggage was taken to our ship (river boat cruise), and we were going to wear the same clothes for another day.

chambray top – forever 21

leggings – target

tennies – nordstrom rack

scarf – world market

cardi – forever 21

purse – target

this purse was the best purse i’ve used to date for travel.  zippered top, open and zippered outside pockets, long strap to wear messenger style.  it fit all i needed, but without too much room to carry so much that the bag ever got heavy.  it was awesome!

so after walking miles around paris all day, after traveling half way around the world, our first night dinner is planned at 7:30, with 5 or so courses, and ended at around 10:30 or 11.  i felt myself raising my eyebrows all night just to keep my eyes open!

i went comfy/fancy for the night.

jeans – forvever 21

i was so thankful i packed a few scarves for the trip because they were needed at times!  at some points i had to wrap my scarf around my ears and my neck to keep them warm.  and to tame my rock n’ roll hair.

our last day we spent in paris again, this time starting at the louvre.

jacket – target, refashioned by me

necklace – groopdealz

shirt – forever 21

jeans – target

shoes – converse

our last night we decided to go see a cabaret. the moulin rouge was a bit out of our price range (more than a car payment!), so our concierge found another.  it was an… experience.  we had fun, but left a bit shocked.  i had a hard time deciding what to wear, so i asked instagram.  and sean.  while the 134 comments were fairly evenly divided (you guys are opinionated!), sean was pretty set on the red dress.  so the dress it was!

Oh your trip looks amazing!! I love Paris but haven’t been north of there except for a basketball game, so I haven’t been able to see some of those cities. So fun! Some day I’ll hopefully make it up there! As always, your outfits are super cute!

  5. 7

It looks like you had a wonderful trip and sans children too! How fun. Lovely outfits – lucky you brought your warmer clothes for our European not-Spring. I am so jealous of your tank tops and jeans!

  6. 8

You’re killin’ me. Do you have bad outfit/hair days? You look cute in everything. OR, maybe since it’s YOUR blog, you only post the pics where you look good? ;) Regardless, there are just too many good ones. They must AT LEAST outweigh the bad.

      lindsey says:

not really. i just packed too much! i planned on wearing mostly flats and that was just not realistic since it was still chilly. not terribly chilly, but too cold for my bare ankles!

I love all your outfits! Some look quite Parisian ;)
I’m curious… do you or your hubs speak French? I’d love to go to France someday but I only took the two high school years of French and how hard was it to communicate if you do in fact not speak it?

    • 26
      lindsey says:

we don’t speak any french! actually, we joked that we do speak a few words: croissant, baguette, and crepes! we had no problem finding our way around or getting help when we needed it. most people speak english, even if they don’t want to help.

  21. 27

Love how comfy your outfits looked and of course all the stripes! Looks like you had a wonderful time in Paris (so jealous!) Love that gold beaded necklace especially!

What an interesting way to see some of France, via River boat. Did you like the boat? Was the food good?

I loved your boots so much that I went and ordered a pair after this post. They were on clearance (non returnable) so they only had a size 8 which is half a size too small. I love love love the look and feel of them. Just hoping they stretch a bit. ;) You are so stinkin cute! Glad you had a fun trip.
