what i wore wednesday

wiww banner

happy wednesday friends!  thanks for joining me for “what i wore wednesday” this week!  i started this long ago when i had 3 littles and rarely left the house, so i rarely got dressed.  when i did, i considered sweats and a hat as “dressed”.  slowly over the years, my schedule has gotten me out of the house more and i have made room for a few extra minutes each day to put on “real” clothes.  are you in a similar situation?  or are you in a clothing rut? start taking pictures of yourself and you will want to make a difference in your clothing, whether its just a couple accessories, or trying a new combination.  then link up with us! (details below)

this week was a little off for me since we were gone for almost a week, visiting family in orange county.  i only really got dressed a couple days (once for sean’s sister’s wedding – yay!), but other than that i stayed in my jammies all day and helped my mother-in-law de-clutter her house (it was sooo fun!).  so all that to say, i don’t have much to share with you!  and when i’m away from home, i’m even worse with remembering to take wiww pics.

i was able to get one picture before we headed out of town.  i was a little dressed up to go out to drinks with the other kindergarten moms at our school.

sweater – forever 21

jeans – target

flats – payless

necklace – c/o jewel kade

i love this necklace and can’t wait to try it with just a plain white v-neck tee and jeans – i think the contrast of the super casual with the fancy will be fun!

i hardly ever do anything creative with my hair, and this was a fun, quick attempt!  i just french braided my bangs back, then took a section behind that and braided that as well, then did a braid on the opposite side, pulled them all into a ponytail and pinned the ends into a messy bun.  it took all of 5 minutes.

top – gift from mom from paris

caridgan – target

jeans – target

flats – payless

necklace – allora handmade

this is the only picture i had of my dress from the wedding.  don’t my nephews look adorable?!

dress – ruby rose

caridgan – target

wedges – old navy

i need to get new shoes to replace these (although you can’t see them).  just minutes before the wedding started, the ankle strap snapped on one of them!  thankfully a safety pin held them together just fine for dancing at the reception!

do you wanna join me?  yay!  just follow the rules:

My gosh they are cute! Loving the dress from the wedding. Is that a belt or an empire line detail on the dress? Great innovation on the shoes – my favourite party shoes recently gave out too – only they disintegrated as I walked in the door from the night of dancing!

I love the pearls with the more casual sweater…very cute! But, my favorite is your top from Paris. It is adorable!!

  3. 4

You looked so cute for the wedding! And I love how you paired pearls with your casual shirt. I wouldn’t have thought to do that, but it looks great.

  4. 5

The pearls and sweatshirt TOTALLY remind me of college in Texas…but you rock it out WAY cuter than we ever did. ;-)

  5. 6

I love your dress for the wedding. And your nephews are such studs!

  6. 7

Great photos and your nephews are handsome! :-)

  7. 8

Totally love your hair do! Love the photp of you and your nephews! They are so tall!

Hey Lindsey, thanks for hosting WIWW. I can’t say I was in the same position as you, not having had little ones. That being said, I simply got lazy, and that was not good. It feels great to be taking just a few more moments to add a bit of jewelry and makeup. And popping on a skirt or pants takes no extra time over sweats. Thanks for sharing your outfits. And your hair is so cute with the braids.

You are so patient with your braids! It looks so pretty…I want to try it too with my super thick hair. Ugh! You and your nephews look really great too! :)

  11. 12

I love your braided messy bun. Really chic!

  12. 13

I love your braided updo! I am way too hair skills challenged to manage something like that.

  13. 14

First, I just want to thank you for your blog. I really enjoy reading it and it always turns a bad mood into a good one. I love looking through all the links and checking out my favorite photos.

Second, love your wedding outfit. You look adorable! Really liked the pearl necklace with the gray top – neat idea of mixing casual and dressy; it worked. Liked the pop of color of the posy necklace on the other gray top.

  14. 15

Love your necklace and hair!! To cute! Thanks again for the awesome style inspiration.

  15. 16

I dream of joining in in this party. I’m at home with 3 littles (4, 2, and 6 weeks) and I dream of feeling good in clothes again and getting my act together. For now it is yoga pants and a tshirt until I drop some lbs.

  16. 17

I just adore your outfits, I need to find jeans like the pair in your first photo! I am a Target-aholic so I need to look for those :).

  17. 18
